I worked for cloth world for years, then was a sub. teacher for 16 years. I now work for Weight Watchers and babbysit my 2 1/2 old grand daughter, Mackenzie.She will be getting a baby brother in July. My daughter adopted a 2 year old boy, Jesse. She has been a foster mother to him for over a year. Now my house is a very busy place.
I also do machine embroidery for people. I love to make baby quilts, some embroidery and some pieced. My first love is making quilts. I have 3 childern and just celebrated my 31st ann.with my husband,Dan.

libby calico...my baby...frail little thing that came to live w me on july 4th 09...hence 'ms liberty'/LIBBY IS NOW ALMOST 2 AND HAS GROWN UP!but was really sick this past spring and is now in beginning stages of renal failure...she finally putting some weight back on and looking perkier.

4. My favorite Style(s) of fabric: I tend to be a Moda girl. Now, that's not to say I only like Moda, but 9 times out of 10, if I like a fabric, it will be a Moda. I do like Fairy Frost!! And, batiks are catching my eye these days!

I'm married for the second time around to my soulmate, and have a 19 y/o daughter who is in her second year of college and doing great!!

My family has been in America for a long time - within 10 years of the Mayflower, so we have ROOTS!! I love history, and learning about our past!

In the fall of 2011, we moved into the spare bedroom of my parents double-wide in Florida-- I love Florida and enjoy living down here, just don't like the reason: my Mom has terminal lung cancer. It's just been diagnosed in Novemeber, 2011, so we have a long road ahead of us.

The thing I would appreciate the most from my Secret Pal is a card of encouragement...I do most of the cooking, and keep Dad and DH in line, and in February will be dealing with all the siblings and spouses and kids and grandkids at one time, for a whole week...I'm already praying for patience!

Update 3/7/12: dealt with all the drama with everyone pretty good, except I'm now on blood pressure meds (seriously!!!)....lol!!!

Mom is doing well, and loves it when my package arrives!!! It's as much fun for her as it is for me!!! If my SP wants to put a note in to her, she'd be THRILLED!!! Her name is Ruth.

My favorite fabric shop: Hobby Lobby!! (Now we have one here in Lakeland, FL, I'm really happy!!!)

My favorite LQS has closed, so I need to dig out the website of the next shop I love!

One thing that I really like is 5" charms - I loved those!!! They don't have to be a "pack", but charms from your scraps are fine!

We have traveled a bit and are getting ready to cruise Alaska in September. We have four children (he came with two daughters and we have two sons). We have thirteen grandkids: one about 3 miles from us in Aurora, six in Ohio, two are in Alamosa, CO, three in Greeley, CO and one in NC. Nine girls and four boys.

Y'all are so interesting! Let's see - my favorite movie is "While You were Sleeping" with Sandra Bullock. I cannot stand fish but like shrimp. I never met a carb I didn't like. Not much of a meat eater. Can't stand raisins or cinnamon or watermelon. Love my morning coffee and afternoon tea. I lean towards action movies and shows rather than the 'girlie' stuff. However, I fast-forward through any of the violent and/or naughty bits, so have to rely on IMDB to fill in the blanks. HA!

Some tidbits of information about me (ex., profession, retired, my special likes, etc.): I am 56 years old and have 3 grown kids (1 daughter who is a nurse, 2 sons; one a calif highway patrolman and the other a washoe, nv sheriff deputy). I have 11 grandkids and 1 great grandson. I made them all rag quilts for Christmas, what an ordeal. It was before the local quilt shop got the Accuquilt machines, but I have one now!?!? I work as a nurse at one of our 2 state prisons. I am currently off work due to a fall at work and had to have a total knee replacement. I have been spending alot of time quilting. My first quilt, I made last year, I put in the county fair and got 3rd place. I got my embroidery machine this time last year and I just love it. I have also gotten some "quilts for kids" to work on. What a wonderful organization. I also love to camp, fish, go to the beach and boating (NO skiing, I like my legs where they are especially with a new knee).
