Sally...Your Apple Cake is so cute. The apples in the bottom corner add a bit of "whimsy". Great fabric choices. Choosing fabric is always very challenging for me. This pattern is perfect for my DIL who has an apple kitchen.

Carol/Kittyquilt...The Crosses & Stars Table Toppers will be Christmas gifts for my 2 oldest DGD's. (They are both in college.) Don't know if I will make any more of these or not.

Oh Sally.....Your apples are so cute!! I LOVE polka dots. And the ric-rac looks perfect with the dots. I was wondering on colors for my apples, so thanks for the inspiration.

Stars and Crosses

This is my second attempt (with the diamonds I cut the wrong size). It actually went along without any hitches but of course I knew where all the hitches were from my first attempt. I still kept my seam ripper close by. No more of these for awhile.

I'm ready to start on apples. Hope my pattern comes soon. I've even cleaned up my sewing room. It looked like something frightful had happened in there.

Bonnie, such nice work and such pretty fabric.

I tried my first block last night, oh my, I was tearing my hair out. I was trying to follow the directions in the pattern and my seams weren't coming out like the ones in the pattern. Mine were going up instead of down, but when I put the left and right pieces together, the seams locked, so I'm thinking the pattern picture may be wrong. Anyone else have this problem? And I had a lot to cut off on the long sides, but then I was a bit shy of my overall size. Gotta go back and look at the video again and see if I can find a clue. I don't have my block shashing picked yet or my borders. I'm having to think real hard if I'll make this into a lap size quilt or just stay at the one block.

Received my August pattern today. A fabric sheet for a Queen Size Stars & Crosses was not included. Sally, I can see how easy it would be to sew the wrong size triangle to the apple pieces! I shall be very watchful.
