This is my Whirlygig. I didn't want to do the whole quilt at this time, but wanted to try the technique. I decided to do just a tablerunner. El's instructions are wonderful. She
makes everything a pleasure to do, with great results.

I'm getting excited about class, 2 more days (nd then I panic cuz my quilt tops are NOT DONE, yikes, need to get crackin--I'll post pics when I get thenm together! I do like the whirligig quilt and I'm thinking of putting the 4-patches on point as a final border to make it bigger so I can use it on bed! I already made it 5 X 7 rather than 4 X 6 for the same reason! Course that leave 5 strips to do something with......plus a few left-over whirligig blocks and left over 4 patchs, thinking, thinking, oh yes and there were all these 1 1/2" squares I got from some of the strips after the 2 1/2" strips were cut off......

Okay--got'em done!! Here they are (the Giant log cabin Block is what's around the 1: finished 6 X 6, left overs from original stips after cutting the 2 1/2"--not sure I'll leave it like this, may find some more 30s and keep going......)

Sally you are a whiz! My goodness, you sure do get alot done in a very short time! These patterns just seems to grow and grow...leftovers turn into more projects!! lol!

Heck, I'm still in January! Two more quilts being worked on..

Sally, I really like how you lined up the colors diagonally across your quilt. I hadn't thought of that.
I still haven't gotten started on January's quilts. (Okay, quilt tops. They usually hang around without a backing for a long time at this house.)

Sally....I also like the way you placed your blocks diagonally. Looks a little more structured, which is more to my liking. Love the border on your green/4 patch quilt.
