Charm pack yardage?
I'm trying to figure out how much yardage a charm pack yields. I had this info written down somewhere, but of course I can't find it now. What I need to know is how many charm packs make up 1/4 yard, 1/2 yard etc. I thought that I had posted this info on one of these discussions but it doesn't come up when I do a search.
I'd appreciate hearing back if anyone knows. Thanks!

Re: Charm pack yardage?
I think(but not positive!LOL!) it's 25" of fabric.
Charm pack-45 charms
If the fab is 45".
9 charms per 5" strip.
25" would yield (45) 5" squares.
1 YD.- 63 charms with 1" left over.
I'm glad you asked this question! I'm going to write the info on my board. Amie )

Re: Charm pack yardage?
I've bought several charm packs and the number of charms varies. I think that would make a difference.

All charm packs are not equal. The number of squares in a charm pack is determined by the number of fabrics in a new line. I have had some from 24 sq. to 54 sq.

Re: Charm pack yardage?
I found it! I found it! I had written it down on a posty note but I couldn't find it anywhere. Anyway, here is the yardage for charms.
1/4 yard = 8 squares
1 fat quarter = 12 squares
1/2 yard = 24 squares
3/4 yard = 40 squares
1 yard = 56 squares
I hope you find this helpful. And now I need to write this down somewhere where I won't forget it

Re: Charm pack yardage?
I've found that most fabric is around 41 to 42 inches wide. So the charms based on 45" wide is rare. I use the calculations from Piecemaker 1. So for 5" strip you will get 8 charms.
