Jay--this is exactly like my Mom's machine. She bought it new in the late 40's or early 50's. She has sewn at least four generations of clothes--prom dresses, baby clothes, tailoring uniforms, everyday wear, wedding dresses and all the fabrics of life on it. Now she keeps it humming with quilts, pillows, aprons, more clothes... it's seldom quiet. What a workhorse it is! Oh, the stories it could tell!!! It moved with us on the train from San Francisco in 1955. She brought her new refrigerator and her sewing machine and almost nothing else. I think train moving was probably pretty expensive for a single mother, recently divorced.
Hope your machine gives you many years of pleasure!
