My Janome MC6600P has a built-in walking foot (even feed foot). Love it.

Re: How do you like your walking foot?
I hated my walking foot because when I used it it sewed way too tight and the material wouldn't move. No matter what I did, or how I adjusted my machine, nothing changed. I adjusted the stitch length, I tried every tension setting from top to bottom. I dropped the feed dogs. I bought them back. I tried tugging the fabric and tried letting it move itself. And everything in between. No changes. It didn't come with my machine, but was one DH got me for Christmas that was supposed to fit my machine. Same brand, etc. I finally gave up and took it back. I usually use my other feets anyway so it was no big deal. But so far I'm the only one I've ever heard of who didn't like it so perhaps it was operator error. I hate when it's that!

Perfect Lady, A about a year ago I started having trouble with my Brother PQ1500s something like you describe. I thought it was my walking foot and I tried all the same things you did. Since the walking foot came with the machine, I took the machine and walking foot to my dealer/repair man. He called later and said the walking foot was fine but the feed dogs on my machine were woren out. He changed the feed dogs and my wanling foot worked fine again. Since you have already taken the walking foot back this won't help at all but you may want to look or have your repairman look at your feed dogs.

Thanks, Geneva. I considered the feed dogs, but I'd just had the machine gone over by a certified technician before Christmas who declared them fine. Though I have to admit, my machine is 20 years old and has had constant use most of that time. Parts are getting old. Mary

Love my Walking Foot. It is a wonderful tool. I wouldn't make a quilt without it on my machine. It came with my machine which is the White brand Quilting machine. Works great!!

I bought one for my Singer Simple. Tried it out, I didn't think it worked all that great. Then I adjusted the presser foot tension and also discovered that I didn't have it attached quite right. After I put it on right, it seems to be working great. I am putting a binding on with it right now and it is making it much easier to feed through. So I guess I like mine.

I bought one for my older Singer and it worked great when I used it. I only make small quilts and wall hangings and use only the fleece for the batting so I haven't had to use it lately. My machine is a slant type and was easy to find amazingly.

Re: How do you like your walking foot?
I was looking for something else and found instructions on how to attach a walking foot on a Baby Lock machine. The instructions may not work for other machines but thought you might like the info.

The walking foot is a great invention, after I went to the singer shop and found out the purpose of it. It works wonders going through all the layers and holding things in perfect alignment. I could not and would not quilt without my walking foot
