SewSew, That is one very pretty scrappy quilt. I had to look for a while before I realized it was all the same block pattern. Isn't it amazing how color choices can so totally change the look of a block. I too would like to know how you did that. For some reason, the greens really seemed to pop out at me.
Love the piano key border. Aren't those fun to make? No rhyme or reason, just go for it. Great way to use up strips and scraps.
Thank you for sharing. What an inspiration! God bless, happy quilting, hugs, Shirley Mae

Under the thread "Who made this quilt" is the same quilt as this one, I think. DewDew - is this a tossed 9 patch? Amazing how different they turn out by using different colors. Wonderful job, Ann.

Very nice job on what looks like an adaptation of the Disappearing Nine Patch. I'm the one that made the quilt in the thread "Who made this quilt" as mentioned above. I used the basic Disappearing Nine Patch pattern, then decided I wanted to use sashing to separate the blocks and then finished off with my piano key border.
I didn't use strips, but instead started out with a charm pack, made a normal Nine Patch, then cut that block in two, once vertically, then horizontally, then rearranged the resulting quarters into my desired arrangement.
I'm intrigued that you arrived at this similar arrangement with strips. How interesting. Again, a very nice scrap quilt!

Ann,
That sounds like a good idea for this pattern. I can see a lot of opportunity for this with some of the 2 1/2 inch swaps that we have done in the past.
Thanks,
Cyber-Sue
