This one is for me!

Post by SewSew » Thu Aug 20, 2009 5:29 am

My DSIL gave me a jelly roll for Christmas and at first I wasn't sure what to do with it. The colors were different than what I usually work with but when Sarah posted this design I just had to go for it. I know that others have posted pictures using this setting also but I don't remember what the name of the pattern is.

I call it Chrysanthemum Rhapsody. It is a Windham Fabrics jelly roll from the line called Rhapsody and it is quilted it in a floral, loop and leaf design. The quilted flowers remind me of chrysanthemums so that is where the name comes from.

SewSew - great job. Love the color, it isn't what I would of picked either. But, they make a great quilt and you did a good job with bringing it all together with the boarder. I really like it.

WOW DewDew - what a great quilt and you worked wonders with that line of fabric. And your quilting - I'm jealous!!! Did you use a panto or is this free hand? And, good for you for keeping it for yourself.

Only 8 weeks from tomorrow - WOO HOO.

Thanks everyone for the great comments.

Sarah, thank you for giving me the name of the pattern. I remember seeing the ones that Amie did also and when I saw yours I thought I should really give it a try. Thanks.

Cindyg, it is all done freehand, I hate to admit it but I haven't even tried to use pantos yet. I have so much fun just doing things freehand, especially this design.

This is such a pretty quilt. I, too, would be at a loss with those colors, but what you did turned out stunning. And I really love your creative quilting. And that's free hand?? You are good, Girl!
