Morning! due to "issues" at DH's work, we weren't able to do anything to get me a car yesterday. With any luck, it'll be solved today and he'll get off at noon. We're going to take his old pick-up in and see how much they'll give us in trade in for it, if they won't give us enough I don't get the van:( I still have a little bit of hope, but it's fading fast. I'm gonna go do some dirty stuff now, maybe I'll get it all done before DH gets home.

Just stopping in for a brief visit. Have been absent from this thread for a bit so wanted to see what was up.

Working today and then getting ready for Oregon trip this weekend. A small group of scouts going up to the scoutmaster's property for a little R & R.

Hope you all have a safe holiday weekend.

Ya'll need to go to the machine quilting thread and check out CoyoteQuilts post about a cheap way to make a table for quilting with your domestic sewing machine...it is awesome!

Good Morning Suzette,

I haven't been up long... got to sleep in this morning which was so well deserved... it should be in the mid to high 80's this weekend and cool down to the 60's in the evenings.... now it is 75.

A lot of things going on in Chit chat with doctor appts, funerals, ect.. prayers to each of them.

I am taking a vacation day so whatever I do I am getting paid to do... if I sew my job will be paying me for the day... I love days like that... Monday will be another day that I will get paid to do whatever I do....

Lois, hope your work day goes by fast.

Maggie, I love the grands too but like you I enjoy a weekend to myself.

Vicky, what are you planting in your garden? we already have two tomatoes on our plants.. they love the hot weather.

Sandy, I was thinking about the Joann's sale too.. a real Joanns store is an hour away a small store is half hour away... but I think I will stay home and piddle my time away here... and except for more curved safety pins I can't think of anything I really need or want...

grammie, hope you have a wonderful vacation and that you do well at both the casino and the quilt stores.

Joanne, glad you had fun... guess taht quarter I asked you to play for me is still at the casino...lol... congrats on that new grandbaby... how exciting.

Traci, happy bday to dh... have fun, I would like to see the purses you made when you are done...

Mary, i don't understand.. your quilting all came down???? did shelves break? what happened?

Lyn, I think I need a chiorpractor too...it sure would feel good.

JW,,, remember it's a buyers market... hope you find what you are looking for.

Valerie, I think it is so cool the way you are involved in scouts.. bet those kids really appreciate having a cool mom along.

well, off I go to sew... you all have a super day and weekend.

Good morning all - Just a short post as my family is all arriving today - that is late tonight and I have a few things left to do.

Chriss - Saw your post last night from yesterday - way to late - Kyna (DD) is on her way here and -IF- I show her the block we will post it in the pictures. She has the camera and knows how to do things like that - I am computer challenged!! Otherwise I will get DH to post it for me!!

Maggie- I just got some of the Best Press and I LOVE it - it will never be empty at this house - it is absolutely fabulous - I guess you can tell I like the stuff!!!!

Its funny how each one of us talks about Jo Ann's - around here they don't carry very much fabric at the Superstore - so it is refered to as the evil store because you can never find what you want - the other bad thing is that it is the only fabric store in town. I do have 6 nearby LQS that I can go to. So I guess I am spoiled.

Well off to the grocery store to buy food to spoil my little boys with for the next week. Am sure looking forward to the week with them

Have a great day

Jana

LOL......Chriss, what I meant by my quilting coming down was I had to remove the quilting from the hoop and put it away so my furbabies would not take advantage of using it for a bed while I was gone. The stand that the hoop is on is not sturdy enough for them to jump around on. No major disasters with shelves or anything like that.

Jana, I am pretty challenged too when it comes to computers... or anything electrical....

Mary, how wonderful that it was just taking the quilt down and that the shelves didn't come down... when I read your first post I thought OMG what a mess... glad it was the latter.

Good afternoon from sunny, warm SW. Pa...Another perfect day! This morning I worked in the Meals on Wheels office and helped a little in the kitchen...The cook was off and the Friday crew were really having problems, but all the meals got out, alittle late but they got out...

Last night DGD received her scholarship. We're so darn proud of her...While we were there, a fellow was asking my DD and DGD about her dancing and asked if they would be willing to donate 1 of her dance costumes to one of the museums in Pittsburgh...

DH and I just had lunch and he left to take care of the graves...I have so much to do today and not sure where to start....Yesterday I fixed 1/2 my flower beds and really need to get outside...And there's 2 quilts I need to get finished...And this house needs some cleaning...

Oh well, I think I need another cup of tea and think about it.....

Enjoy the rest of the day, everyone

Irishgram, I've been thinking about what to do all day now!! lol!
I HAVE done the laundry! whooo hooo! The last load is in the washer now. I hung out the sheets this morning, so they are stacked on the bed waiting for the "bed-stripping fairy" to put them on the bed! lol! (Actually, I'm waiting for DH to help!)

I waited too long to go upstairs to the sewing room. It gets hot up there in the afternoon and I really don't want to turn on the air and wait for it to cool off...drats.

My DIL called earlier...we're invited for dinner...pork roast, mashed potatoes, and salad..ymmm! That sure beats the heck out of leftover speghetti! lol!

I never did go clothes shopping. These people at these graduation parties will have to just look at me in my same old clothes! Both parties are picnics so it won't matter.

My QIAD order came on Wed. morning...while DH was out (yeee haaa! lol!). All that beautiful "True Blue"...I think I'll just look at it for several months...

Good afternoon everyone,
Sounds like everyone is having a busy long weekend. I am going to hit Joann's and Hancock's on monday for their sale. Work on my sweet treat blocks if I ever think one up. I think my mind has quilt block. I spent so much time on the net looking for a design. I problably could have my blocks done with the amount of time I've spent "looking".
Going to cementary on sunday, my mom & dad were both in the navy.

Maggie, thanks for the info on Best Press, going to try it if they have it at my hancock's. Does it come in different smells?

Chriss hope you are enjoying your paid sewing time, it's nice to be able to just sew and not have to worry about minor details like work.
What are doing for the sweet swap? Maybe you could give me some hints on ideas.

I won't have Cooper again until next friday so I kind of feel like I am on vacation also. Of course I'm going to go see him, can't go too long without some hugs and kisses from the sweet little guy. I can't believe he'll be 7mos old tomorrow!! Where has the time gone??

Have a good afternoon,
BBL
Sharon
