Sweet Somethings - A Dessert Block Swap--ON THE WAY HOME!!!
Re: Sweet Somethings - A Dessert Block Swap--ON THE WAY HOME!!!
It's 9:45 AM here on East Coast. Passing by to say that I just went to the post office and my blocks are taking the plane towards California... Lucky them, I never took the plane. Iwish I was at their place and deliver my blocks in person. I would be so much fun!!!
Chriss, I didn't knew you are making a 2nd set??
Wish you all a wonderful day full of sunshine in your heart!!!
Love & hugs

Everyone...Chriss has kindly stepped up to make a second set of blocks in place of one of our friends who hasn't been in touch for awhile. We don't know for absolute certain that our quilter has dropped out, but it sure seems that way. Chriss became aware of the possible missing block situation, and volunteered to help out! We really appreciate it, too!

Um.... Dad's on a jury? Did you forget to mention that? I think I'm calling you.... to see if you forgot to mention anything else lately
Anyway... putting out a request for Dutch Oven Sweet Treats....anyone have any good recipes? We are heading out into the wilderness, and I could use some fun good recipes!

Carolyn, you bet it would be fun!!! Wish I could! <<sighs dreaming...>>
Chriss, I thought about it, to stick stamps on my forehead... LOL That's nice of you to make a 2nd set.
I noticed this morning that I had forgot to insert in all your ziplock bags a recipe for a caramel sauce. Here it is.
Wish you all a wonderful day full of sunshine in your heart!!
Love & hugs

---------------------------------------
CARAMEL SAUCE / SPREAD
This is delicious as spread/butter on a toast, also as a sauce on ICE CREAM!!!! and sprinkle peanuts or other kinds of nuts on top!!
1 cup packed golden or brown sugar *
1 cup cream (15% or 35%)
1 cup syrup **
1 can Eagle Brand condensed milk
1 tbsp butter
1/2 tsp vanilla
Pinch of salt
In a medium pan, combine the brown sugar and cream and wisk to mix well.
Bring to boil on medium/high heat wisking frequently and simmer on medium heat for
5 minutes, wisking occasionnally.
Remove pan from heat. Stir in the syrup, Eagle Brand milk, butter, vanilla and salt. Wisk well.
Bring back to boil on medium/high heat wisking frequently, simmer on medium heat for
10 minutes, wisking occasionnally.
Let cool cown. Don't worry if it looks "liquid", by cooling down, it will get thicker?? Put in a closed container and keep refrigerated.
* Golden brown sugar will be light caramel, brown sugar will be darker.
** For the syrup, usually I use maple syrup. You can also use corn syrup, syrup.
Sometimes, I use half / half maple syrup & syrup.
Bon Appétit !!! @-->--->----
