Hi, Everyone!

Hope you all have a safe and happy 4th of July, and that you get to spend at least part of it quilting! I've been inspired by our sweet somethings to make dessert for the pot luck we will be attending. Imagine that...me making something chocolate!

Anyway, hope you all have a sweet weekend!

Jeanne -

Don't stress about the blocks. Are you machine appliqueing them? I cheat a little and use fusible interfacing. I sew the interfacing to the applique pieces, fusible side to right side of the fabric, in a 1/4" or slightly less seam allowance all around. Then I trim and clip curves, cut a little slit in the interfacing and turn it right side out. Then I can fuse the piece onto my backing with no raw edges showing. Finally, I do the machine blanket stitch to finish the edge. It seems to go more easily that way for me, and a little faster. Also, my handwork isn't as nice as it used to be. Anyway, I hope yours go well for you.

Good luck to everyone out there! The anticipation is building. :o)

Buttercup, I am machine appliqueing. I am using the fusiable method, which is great. I have made four blocks and two I have used the statin stitch around and two the blanket stitch. I have lots of fabric and just can't decide what I want to make.

Sounds great, Jeanne. I just hope everyone is having as much fun as I am with this!

I received blocks and cornerstones from Sagebrushquilter today! Boy, are they ever cute! Also, very nicely done! Thanks, "Sage", everyone will love them.
