Almost Amish

Post by SallyC » Sat Apr 11, 2009 5:08 pm

I've added some more borders. DH still thinks it's too dark and suggests another border with the red (border 2 or 3). What do you think? I was just going to add another black border and start quilting, but....

I already added the turquoise to lighten it up (and gave me an excuse to use El's new giant flying geese ruler!)

I think it depends on what/who the quilt is for. If you wanted Amish look, you certainly excelled. It is very manly looking the way it is but if it is for a female, I might considering lightening it up some. Just my thoughts, I am sure somebody else has a better idea.

I kind of like it like it is! But if you want to add another border, maybe a narrow of the rose color. However, like Wesignificant mentioned, if it is for a male, then one of the darker colors. If generic, then I think the rose color.

Beautiful quilt, so much workmanship went into it. Good Job!

Oh I like that as is. I don't think it's too dark at all. Lori

Sally I think it is just stunning the way it is. Most Amish quilts tend to be kind of dark aren't they? I'm really not sure. You do such nice work and the quilt will be beautiful whether you add another border or not. I love it! Thank You for sharing.

:)

Sally, WoW ...is all I can say. I like the quilt as is.
Dark enough for a male and light enough for a female.
