The ones that I have seen and the one I purchased said that they were universal.

Happymrs. - My BFF would like to know the same thing. She has Viking machines. She also has two bobbin winders that she can't use.

They are not universal, unfortunately, & all I can see, so far, is the one Sidewinder? Have thought of investing in one, but need to make sure it will take the Viking bobbins first...

My daughter has a Viking Machine and she looked at the Sidewinder website to see if her machine would work - it didn't. The site tells all the machines that it will work with - You might look there

I recommend staying away from the sidewinder. My group got one and it was a big pain.

Re: Bobbin winders???
I read the new Sidewinders will work on Viking.
I have the Sidewinder and haven't had any problems with it. I discovered I have to adjust the tension on it when winding bobbins for different make of machines. And for a bigger size spool of thread I put a straw over the spool spindle to keep the spool from spinning off. My DGD loves to wind bobbins on it. That's her job to keep me stocked in pre wound bobbins. LOL It was worth buying just for that. (Grandmas will understand)

I wish the Sidewinder did work on the Vikings & hopefully the new ones will. I have a Bernina & I just love my Sidewinder. Never had any problems.

Sewbug, good idea, DGD's would love to do that, my sidewinder eats up batteries really fast, [like 1 or 2 bobbins] I put lithium ones in it, seems to do better. Has anyone had that problem with the batteries?

Re: Bobbin winders???
I've had my batteries in mine for several months and have not had a problem. Use it all the time. It also comes with an AC plug, you might have to just plug it in. You still need the batteries in it for balance, it's too light without them. But I love mine.
