Oh wow, thanks for showing us the book, I have that one, & have always loved the block on the front cover! Now I will have to try one too! I noticed, looking at this block you did, it looks like some small flying geese are in there, or could be! Might be an easier way to do it, even though it would add more seams, just a thought! Yours looks great though & love all the colors too! This would also make a neat scrappy type quilt, I'm thinking. Thanks for sharing!

Nancy....

(Just looked at your block again & those outer, bigger blocks could be done a flying geese too, just thinking again, lol, might be an easier way to tackle this block!)

Fantastic!! Looks hard. Not sure I'd want to tackle this one. Good Luck on the rest!

This is a lovely block - it is on my "to do once" list! Happymrs, yes, I think it could be done with small flying geese in the centre (adding extra seams, however) - but I can not see a way how to use big flying geese outside the central part - their points/peaks (being in the very middle of the piece) would NOT match the neighbouring angles ... I think a hectagon has to be made first and then the big triangles are added using partial seams ... again this is about those many paths leading to Rome ...

Absolutely stunning! I like it. You did an awesome job on it. And, your DIL has good taste. Can't wait to see the whole thing done.
