Thank you all for your comments! I just felt so sad for his situation. He is a loving father of three kids and is in the Navy and his family is everything to him, so it was devastating for him to come home and find that his wife didn't want to be married to him anymore after 13 years.
About 2 days before he moved into his apartment, I thought, "hmmm....a quilt makes an apartment a home. What can I put together quickly?" The answer was an Irish Chain! I asked my hubby if he thought it was a good idea, to which the answer was, "I'm sure he'll like it." God certainly guided me on this one!
