You girls have great stories... my stories all revolve around this forum... someone signed me up for the barn block of the month and gave me a gift cert to buy fabric... but they won't say who they were.... someone else sent me a 15inch square up ruler just because she read my saying I wanted one....Someone else noticed that I said my granddaughter loved crafts and sent me a ton of them for her... and my secret pal last month sent not only stuff for me but for the granddaughter as well.

I am paying it forward whenever I can... and I am still trying to figure out what on earth I have done to deserve such kindnesses from people who really dont "know" me... but you are people I can call my friends.... thankyou all.....

what a wonderful story! I have been so touched by the ladies and men I have met since I began quilting...there is a special place in the hearts of quiliters. You met a new friend trolling the streets and like Chriss this forum has led me to wonderful friends....including my "geese" buddy Chriss

You are a BRAVE lady. I would never just walk up to a door and ask that. Wow! I'm impressed. Glad you got your green.

This was a good thread to begin, I have enjoyed all of you sharing your stories also. It is a hard life living 100 mile to the nearest quilt store. But maybe some of us quilters that live in this rural spot will get to know each other. Quilters are very nice people. Just as in the question posted Do any of you make quilts for yourself or do you all give them away. My answer was that mine are most all given away. I only have one I made specifically for myself. It would be hard to answer Carolej, but i think the answer is yes to both sides of the thought: are generous people more likely to be quilters...or are quilters more prone to being generous.

This was so funny. It certainly reminds me of something I would do for fabric. HA
