I'm also a sunflower lover. You did a fantastic job. Love your colors and your first border really sets it off. Just beautiful.

CTHerrie, Fantastic job on this quilt and the applique. The flowers look so real. I am just learning to applique and I love it. I thought it would be a lot harder than it is. Guess if you enjoy something, it is no longer "work".

Are those prairie points around the border? They sure add to the over all look and bring out the gold of the sunflowers. I grew up in the midwest and I love sunflowers.

Did you know they literally follow the sun? The flower heads turn in the direction of the sun during the day. If you pass a huge sunflower field, they appear to be soldiers, all saluting the sun. And if you pass again later in the day, they are all turned the other way.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful quilt. Hugs, Shirley Mae

Being from SD, I also like sunflowers. I have a sunflower template kit - in storage, that should not have been packed, and want to work on it this summer. Like you pattern and your quilt, very nice.
