Just to let you all know
*********I DID IT******* and I survived. BUT I can tell you I am NEVER EVER EVER doing that again!!!
My boys came and took some pictures with their cameras, so as soon as they can send them to me, I'll post some.
In reality, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, until I got OUT of the water---. You would be amazed at the things people will wear to jump in a frozen lake! One little gal had on a BIKINI!! and there was a guy in a SPEEDO that left NOTHING to the imagination!
It is wonderful to be home, safe and warm and I think I'm going to go crash on the couch for a little while. I am so glad it's OVER!

Just had to check in and see what was going on.
WOW Mary you are brave, or crazy. Not sure. You did it for a great reason, but I would never have the courage to try that. I always thought those people that do it on New Years Day were missing a spoke somewhere. lol
We were supposed to have a sewing day today, but they gave the girl in charge the wrong keys to the building, so we could not get in. So after driving about 15 miles on crazy roads, I had to turn around and drive back on the same bad roads. We are getting approx. 6-8 inches of snow today and it is cold and blowing. I made it safe and sound back home, so I decided to do some sewing here instead. I very seldom sew at home.
I have to finish my table runner for our expo in March. I make a table runner every year to enter for the drawing. I would never win anything as far as the show goes, but anyone who enters gets their name in the drawing for 2 sewing machines they give away every year. One of them is a Husqvarna Viking Sapphire 830 and the other one is a Bernina Activa 220.
Well, I am off to work.

Maryq I still can't believe that you did that!! But I sure am glad you made it home safe and sound!! Can't wait to see the pictures...
DH and DGS are playing "War" (the card game) and it sounds like DGS is trying to create a new game..to his advantage! lol!
DH and I both have colds...again..guess we'll have to wait for spring to really get healthy!

Guess what!!!! I am now on my wireless internet setup. It took several hours and a couple of calls to my cable company but it is now working. I will be able to go onto embroidery websites to get different patterns and send them directly to my sewing machine. I am so thrilled.
Sandy did you get to do any embroidery??. I wll be doing some a little later.
I got a call from Joann's and was told they were not busy so I didn't have to come in if I didn't want to so I am staying home and so happy. I get to sew and was able to get my wireless set up.

Crazy Maryq - I'm glad you are home safe and sound and warm. I think the girl in the bikini had the right idea. Her body was going to get wet anyway so by wearing less, there was less wet clothes on when she got out of the water - make sense? Less clothes to get off to get into something dry and warm. I could never do it but I admire you and why you did. Can't wait to see the pictures.
Brenda - you'll have fun with that embroidery machine. I'm glad you can download patterns now.
There is a reason why they say "measure twice, cut once". I screwed up my border. Had to take off the 9-patch cornerstones and add 3" to the border - dang it. I hate making mistakes. I just have to sew on the last two borders and I'll be thru with the Pink Lemonade quilt.

Maryq - Glad you are OK and proud of you that you did it! Thought it was funny that your sons came to TAKE PICTURES - THEY should have been the ones in the water!! What did you wear to jump in the water??
