My newest creation

Here's my flying geese lap quilt that I'm giving to my favorite aunt. I had some fat quarters of reproduction Civil War fabrics that I found on ebay and just added a nice off-white background. My aunt has a farm with a gaggle of very loud geese, so I thought the flying geese were appropriate. As always, I found a homespun for the backing that reflected the mood and colors of the quilt top:-) My borders aren't perfect on the long sides, but I think she will like it just the same. This is my first quilt using cotton batting and I LOVED it! I really like how it looks after I washed it. My DH said he really likes how it looks "crinkly".

Beautiful!! I have the extra-large goose ruler, and the itty bitty one, and all the sizes in between...want to make something with geese in every size, but can't figure out what...
