This was her first quilt block made on her own sewing machine. She is so excited to be able to do this.

That is a very pretty quilt block. Thank you so much for sharing. Hope she does a lot more in the future to share with us. My dd suggested to me today that I start making lots of odd and end blocks that I am so fascinated with. Then when I get enough made, I can put together a whole quilt. I don't have the patience anymore to do the same block over and over again. I love variety so I think I will just take her suggestion. Maybe Alexis could do the same.

Happy quilting and God's blessings on you both. Hugs, Shirley Mae

Alexis is precious and so is her block. Good for her. We need more young sewers.

Wow! I'm so excited for her! It's a beautiful block. Tell her she is very talented and I can't wait to see more of her work!

My five year old granddaughter watched me pin last night, asked lots of questions, and when I started quilting it this morning she was facsinated and stood there watching the stitching. She wants her own machine for her birthday. I told her I would get her one and we would leave it here in her room with my sewing machine and when she comes to visit every other weekend, I will teach her to sew. Her room is actually my sewing room, but she has claimed it as hers.

I love that young ones are sewing!!!
