Flynn Quilt Frames

Post by jameswife2003 » Thu Feb 12, 2009 12:49 am

Does anyone have one of these? I really want to get some kind of frame to machine quilt on, but I can't afford a stand up frame, and we don't have the room. this seems like a good choice for me, but I'd like some opinions before I buy it.

Hello, I have bought and returned Flynn Quilt frames. I do not recommend it at all. It was very user UNFRIENDLY, bulky, instruction lacking, had to reposition, reroll, and mess with it more than sew with it. I returned it to my local Quilt store within a week and she was very kind to return my money. I do not recommend his product but love his quilts. There are also comments on Flynn in another comment area here. Good Luck

Flynn makes it look so easy but I understand that it is not easy and is hard to handle. I don't know this from personal experience - I've never used one.

I have heard that they are difficult to use also but have never tried one.

JW, check out today's posts in Quilting and Fabric discussions. It covers this frame very thoroughly.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I think I'll just get a new hand frame. glad I didn't buy it before asking opinions on it. I don't have room for a big quilting frame, and I can't afford one either. Found a hand frame that folds up when it's not in use though, and since I actually have the right size needles now(3 day epic to get that figured out!) my hand quilting isn't bad.
