We did this label last night, & hubby is taking the quilt to work today, to her husband, who will take it home to her this evening! Found out she just had another chemo treatment yesterday, so I'm sure this will be a pleasant surprise for her! Had to laugh, bought a big Valentine's bag to put it in & some pretty pink & fushia tissue paper, told hubby, when she see's it, she'll think her hubby is bringing her his V-day gift, lol! It turned out really neat, it was hubby's idea to add the pink ribbon, & I thought the backing looked really pretty onb this one too, goes well with the front, don't you think? She loves purple too, so that was another reason we choose this fabric, besides it being on the sale table at the LQS, just in time! I tried to do an edit & put this with the other quilt pics, but no edit button appeared, so here it is!

Nancy, I can't believe I haven't commented on this quilt yet..I think my mouth is still open! This is absolutely gorgeous! What a beautiful job of color placement and the border just is incredible! My DH helps me when I get "stuck", too...I love it!

Nancy, The quilt is gorgeous and using the fabric the way you did in the border is nothing short of genius!!! The backing ties right in with the front. Do you handprint your labels or run them off the computer onto fabric? Excellent job!

What a great idea for the border! The black really sets off the vibrant colors.

Sharon..
My hubby did this label. I ironed the fabric to freezer paper, then he hand did the label. I peeled it off, added a smaller square of Steam A Seam2 in the middle of label, fused it to the quilt, then handstitched the edges! Very easy & I love how it looks...
Thanks everyone, for all your lovely comments. I came with the border idea while making the quilt. My idea was using the scraps this way, then DH mentioned adding smaller strips of black between the scraps, to give them a floating effect, & I was very happy with the results! This border is very time consuming, but worth the end result, if you don't mind that part!

Your friend should find much comfort wrapped in this quilt. It is beautiful and your husband did a great job on the label.
