Baby Quilt Step 1 CRUNCH TIME ON QUILT

Oh my gosh it is going to be crunch time on the quilt I just got the invite the other day and the baby shower is March 7th.
These are a few pictures of the latest that I done. There are 14 pictures in all taken and I only picked a few. I will post more when the next step is completed. What kind of neutral color can I use for a back ground? This is a gift for a baby. The couple don't want to know if they are having a boy or a girl until the baby is born.

Really cute. The background could be in a very soft Yellow or soft Green. Even a tone on tone soft white. Hope to see this quilt when you finish it!

I love it! A lot of work put into it. I was thinking yellow or green also but since there is yellow stitching maybe the soft green? Please post a pic when you have it completed. I'm cross stitching on a Qu sz quilt top. Fun. lol

That is adorable!! The animals are so sweet looking!! I agree with a yellow or green. I'll be anxious to see it all done too...

Thank you ladies for all of your ideas. My dear hubby thinks I should use the stuff he found cleaning the spare room it is light blue with white clouds on it.

I WOULD USE ALL BABY COLORS MY DAUGHTER DID THE SAME TYPE OF QUILT FOR HER FIRST BABY AND I DID ALL THE QUILTING PART OF IT AND THAT IS WHAT I DID FOR FABRIC IT CAME OUT WONDERFUL. LISA
