Re: Snowcovered Tuesday January 27th.
Good morning, from a gray and gloomy norhtern Illinois. Not much excitement in the weather. My pillowcases I sent to Bubbles last week were in the Chicago area 3 days later-my tracking number will be updated in the evening
and Wesig hasn't received her package for winning the GP contest-unless she sent it on to someone else!!LOL DS# is coming over to use my pc for something and I hope to do some sewing today. Heard any good governor jokes lately??? The news doesn't talk about how the state has been trying to recall him, or that he traveled from Chicago to Springfield every day-and I don't know how much it cost to fly or drive-or that he closed the state parks and historic sites in the republican districts because they voted against him on something and the funding is no longer there to keep them open. Most seem more interested in his hair?? LOvely isn't it-Sandy, off to play in cotton.

It depends on how big the piece is. I try to get as much out of it as I can. Right now I have bins for 1 1/2, 2, 2 1/2, 3 1/2, and 4 1/2 and a bag of strings. Most of the quilts I want to do use these measurements, but occasionally there will be one that's different. I just cut those strips on thier own. I'm trying to be organized so I don't drive DH completely crazy:) I'm mostly going to be concentrating on the 3 1/2 right now so I can do the Old Tobbacco Road mystery from http://www.quiltville.com'>http://www.quiltville.com I peeked ahead though so I know what it'll look like:)

LOL Sandy - I grew up in IL and have been through lots of "Illinois Politics" - this is just the latest chapter. I'm thinking the citizens need to take over! I get so aggravated when I hear the politicians in Chicago refer to Bloomington as "Southern Illinois". WHAT? It's in the top THIRD of the state, lol.
I don't know why they even think Blago would be in Springfield for his trial - he hasn't been there since he was elected, lol.
Good indicator - I have most of my family still living in IL - Republicans, Democrats, conservatives, liberals - and NONE of them like him, lol. Says a lot about the man.
Whipping through some pillowcases - then get to pick a project for Paducah and myself!
It's snowing lightly here again at the moment....
Sikeston - throwed rolls - Lamberts - yummmmmmmmmmm!!
My dad was stationed at Fr. Leonard Wood too back in the 50's!
We lived in Dexter for 6 years from 92-98 so it's very familiar territory. DH's sis and hubby have a cabin and some acres of rocks down around Ironton so we get there a couple of times per year as well.

kho & Bubbles, I can't believe that dude. Well, come to think of it, yes I can. Scheeeeeeesh! I can't say anything more because I get in trouble. I can't seem to keep my mouth shut once it opens about politics. So I'm shutting up now.

I am heading to the dentist at 11 and hope to come home and sew. I am sick of the Illinois news. That is all we get in NW Indiana. And the Gov took a private jet to NY to be on TV. Who is paying for that? I am so glad Bush did not pardon Ryan. Well.... that's it for me. I may stop at Jo Ann's on my way home. Geri

I am home today with Becca so we are going to play in the snow for about 10 minutes as that is about all I will be able to handle then come in and warm up. I will make a purse today and relax. We are waiting for the second part of the storm which is supposed to start around 2. It sounds like a good day to stay home.

Me, too, Cindyg! I try to behave!! I have strong opionions but I try to be cautious about venting! lol!
If it's your state you can vent, that's my view! I don't think anyone can really argue FOR the man..but then, who knows??!
Jameswife, I've been doing that, too...just started and it's taking a LONG time! lol! Bought some photo boxes on sale and labeled them..my 2 1/2 is full already. There's YEARS of accumilation of scraps, so it's a daunting task.
Lamberts!!! That's it! I can never think of the name...it is AWESOME!!

I do a little at a time. Once in a while(maybe once a month) I'll take a day and just cut, no sewing(which is what I'm doing today) otherwise I'll just cut for 30 min. or so, then go do something else. I'm slowly making some headway, but I keep adding to my scraps when I cut out clothes for my kids:) Eventually I'll get it all sorted, then it'll be easier when I want to work on a quilt.
