Vicky, you could send your kids out to me! I will exhaust them shoveling, and possibly go sledding if they dry out before the sun goes down!

Worked on DS2's quilt, got 4 rows of quilting done just to find out I'd quilted in the excess batting from around the edge. fortunately, just at the edge of the quilting so I only have to take out about 6" of it. I think I'm done for the day, I'm going to go trace the pattern for some overalls.

Well, I went for therapy. I probably didn't tell you all that I drive 30 to go to my therapy. I stopped by one of the banks to pick up some charity tops from a guild member and her husband brought the wrong box. Imagine a man doing anything like that? Everyone was bracing for an incoming ice storm and I thought that I could sew on the charity quilts if we get iced in but don't lose electricity. Traffic was heavy, as one person said, worse than Christmas, with people rushing to get those supplies. We've been told to expect ice, not snow. My husband said he hopes it will be sleet, and I know how he hates ice so I asked why. He said that sleet pellets don't build up on the electric wires like freezing rains do, so maybe we wouldn't lose power if it's sleet. We've just got back home, and had a phone call from daughter so we can talk to grandson. We think we're all set. We got groceries yesterday and have that little heater all set up to bring in if we need it. I might need to check out the lamp oil.

Checking in to gripe! Beware!
Sharon, you don't need math to quilt as much as you need a bloody masters' in engineering--! Even my DH screws up when I ask him for help, and he was a math major at one time! He's has one of those whacky brains that can do multi-digit math in his head....but he forgets the seam allowances! LOL

I finally did a pink, purple, and ivory block after some agonizing over the pattern and several false starts. Why do I even ATTEMPT a pattern other than ones from QIAD? Dang it, what a waste of time and fabric! This California gal was defeated by the Alabama star...go ahead...mock my ineptitude! Finally just found a pattern for the basic Friendship star...zip, zip, zip, and it's here in my lap! <rolling eyes Heavenward>

Off to double check the addy and check to see if the mail has gone already or not! I have a headache...

Hi everyone. I am back from a weekend at the waterpark with my DGD and her friend from across the street. Had a wonderful weekend, but every tired. Hard to keep up with 2 nine year old girls that love to play in the water.

I noticed on yesterdays thread someone mentioned the Chicago show. Is anyone planning on going? I will be there all day Saturday and would like to meet anyone available.

Good evening everyone.

Judi, I think I am going to embellish my blocks after they are all done too...prayers for your sister tomorrow....

Carole, glad you got the star done.... I still need to finish mine... I had a son who did my math problems but he grew up and moved out, got a girlfriend and now we never see him... We gals just can't win....lol.... I think I will follow your lead and do the friendship star too.

Have you all been getting your QIAD newsletters in the e-mail? I haven't... I looked in junk and they aren't there either....

hope you all are having a great night.

Sharon, lol I guess I should have been more clear. An INDOOR waterpark. It would be a luge here also. In fact, some of the slides went outside the building, they were covered tubes, and both girls said their butts got very cold. You would only be outside a couple of seconds.
