YEAH it's Sunday:)
Good Morning!! I'm excited to be the one to start the discussion today:)
This is my favorite time of the whole week-- it's 7am, 3 below zero, and I'm sitting here with my cup of coffee watching the sun come up behind my frosted windows!!
Had a nice visit with Mequilter yesterday-- gave each other ideas on our projects, it's nice to have some feedback!!
I'm starting a new quilt for DF today, log cabin in greens.
Have a great day!
Cynthia

Good morning all! Up with the chickens myself here. First cup of coffee. Lots to do today. Want to get the rows on my Batik quilt finsihed, quilt class 11 - 5., bills to pay, an evaluation to complete for work and that should be enough.
In class I am going to do a quilt called, "Kansas Troubles". It is a sawtooth block in KT fabrics. This instructor does all her quilts in KT for the most part. The picture she gave us doesn't look so bad so hopefully I can at least get most of the blocks done. There are 48. Hope you all have a great day!

Can't believe that I am the first one on this morning. Well, not FIRST 'cause Cynthia was the firstest! lol!
Yesterday was a great day! (See yesterday's post for the picture!) Beccasmom and Institcheswithrosie and I all had a really nice time. We all met for breakfast and then to the Victorian Quilt Shop (it's closing). Beccasmom/Brenda brought Becca so that was a treat! What a little shopper! I think she checked out everything in the store and waited patiently until they cut her ribbon and string pearls. She'll be a quilter one day!
Rosie is a hoot! lol! When it came time for us to get pictures, Rosie just made an announcement that we needed a picturetaker!! lol! (Rosie is NOT shy! lol!) A really nice lady from Kentucky stepped up and volunteered. Another lady was really interested in the forum, she was kind of amazed that we all didn't know each other and had just met! Brenda explained the forum and how to get to QIAD website...I told her to get on here and post about meeting these 3 crazy ladies and we'd talk to her! Quilters are a wonderful bunch!
There's another LQS close by so hopefully we'll get together again soon to investigate that shop...Vivian1970 had to work yesterday, but maybe she can join us for that trip.

'Morning all!
Wow, the Hawk Watch yesterday was FUN and interesting! Saw a couple red tail hawks, a red shoulder hawk, a Cooper's hawk, all UP CLOSE and personal. Got to see a few get banded and released. Very, very interesting; the girls got some good photos. Also saw a burrowing owl, which I thought was very cute...I think he really thought he was hiding out, "trying not to be seen", but he kept popping up to glare at us and blowing his cover! Silly thang!
I did not know that there are meadowlarks here in southern California. I further did not know that flocks of Canada geese like to winter in the Santa Maria valley...! There was a HUGE flock of them hanging out in a field, beautiful birds!
For today...I am feeling like I should be a good girl and head up to the property to work and help DH out. I'm sure he has some fun chore he could assign to me...then tomorrow I can loaf at home and work on my quilt without feeling guilty!

I"m up too!! Sure was hard to crawl out of my nice warm bed!!! It's 5 below here and I'm sure the wind chill is even worse!
Since I did manage to get a few house chores done yesterday, today I'm going to work on some sewing projects. Got the Valentine table runner top done for BFF and need to get it put together and quilted. Going to try a different pattern for Lisa's basket block for birthday swap and maybe, just maybe trying quilting my "Bed of Roses" quilt. DD has to work today, but when she gets home I'm going to have her help me take some pictures of my projects. It's so nice to have some one else around to help me hold things up for pictures!
Hey I just happen to think.... are we doing Lotto Blocks for February? Did I miss it???
Well, time to get fanny moving. See y'all later!

Re: YEAH it's Sunday:)
Good morning everyone....
We ended up in town for a bit yesterday, but it was nice to have a day out! A friend, co-worker, gave my hubby a Mandolin & now, of course, he wants to learn to play it, so off to a music store we went for a tuner, & he is already signed up for his firt lesson, class, on Tuesday nite. So that will be fun for him. After hitting Starbucks, we headed out to Circuit City, to check out their going out of business sale & I got an early bd present! A fuscia colored iPod Nano! So I have new tecky toy to keep me in touch with my tunes, lol!
Check this tune out on YouTube, hope the link, hubby found it & sent it to me last night! One of my old favorites, may have to add it to my Nano...
Bertie Higgins - Key Largo (Covers Slide)
Last night we got to party, with a group my hubby has been a part of for 10 years now, so it was a reunion party. They all started out taking an "Artist Way" workshop here, & have all kept in touch since then, so we had alot of fun, to say the least!
Today, we plan to hangout here at home. Rod has some work related stuff to write up, & me, maybe do a bit of cleaning, & working on my quilt border, which I am hoping to finish soon, so I can quilt this one, & finish it, & get it to our friend!
Weather is colder here this morning, we hit around 60' a couple of days ago, but winter is back again for a bit. Was sunny, now the clouds have rolled in, so we'll see what today brings us!
Enjoy!
Nancy...(Forgot to add this link, not sure it will even work, if not, do a google search for it, & take a listen! Love it!)

Re: YEAH it's Sunday:)
Glad to see people stirring! I think after one more cup of coffee I'll be ready to tackle the Crumbs, getting rid of a tiny dent in my scraps. That Crumbs Chaos thing is not as easy as it looks! Well, maybe it's just ME..lol!
CaroleJ that hawk watch sounds awesome! Just can't even imagine seeing all those birds up close. Maybe you could post a couple of pictures in photos???
Chriss, I'm not sure movies have really "advanced"! lol! My DH and I love old westerns...a little too much of everything nowdays! Things seem to move WAY too fast now.
Maryq, I don't remember seeing a Lotto for February either!? I didn't do January...all those geese and matching points seemed too much for me right now. I'll have to check out February, if there is one.
Oh! The lady we met yesterday joined the forum!! Her name is "deequilts2" and she's posted in the welcome thread and also in Chit Chats. A brand new "El's Angel".

I have not seen a thread for February Lotto yet either. My January is done and arrived safe and sound.
