Wednesday 01/21...anyone up yet?

Post by CaroleJ » Wed Jan 21, 2009 1:16 am

Just after 0400 here on the west coast of the US....been awake since 0300.....YUUUUUUCK.....that makes the day *very* long....ah well, there's always my buddy, caffeine, to help me get through.

Lord willing and the crick don't rise, OUR FOUNDATION WILL BE POURED TODAY! Yeeee-ha! I can't believe we are finally at this stage; I am relieved and giddy all at once! Having the concrete poured is a major breakthrough in a journey that has, at times, seemed as though it were moving forward at the rate of continental drift. Sending up multiple and near-continuous prayers of gratitude this morning, even though I won't get any sewing done today :-D <tee hee>

Carole, how exciting... I didn't know you were building.... let us know how it goes and take pictures....

it is 55 degrees here and supposed to be a chance of showers tonight. This weekend is a quilt show in Modesto Calif... it's no huge but there will be some vendors there... I prefer the one in Santa Clara, Calif but that isn't until November and I need my fix... the fabric stores we have in the next town are Walmart and JoAnn's... both not in the best neighbor hood... have to go 45 miles for a "quilt shop"....

I got El's barn BOM video to work but had to down load it so it would play properly... I will watch it tonight...

hope you girls all have a wonderful day.....

Yep, I'm up. I had to take hubby to work this morning cause there's music lessons today. It's cold again 1 degree. I'm tired of the cold. I want to get out and walk.

Busy day with lessons and then Bible study is here at our house tonight. I don't know if I'll much if any sewing done today.

:-) Have a bright and beautiful day!

Good morning, It is 0 here this morning. It is supposed to get to 20. I am tired of cold weather too, carol....I like to get out in my yard and walk and go down to the river . I'm working on 2 shopping bags today. I want them done to use in Paducah so I'm trying out patterns for me and my Sis. Keep her in your prayers...she is having hip replacement surgery on tues. She is only 52, but it has to be done. I may try to work on my barn today...Those of you who are cold stay warm and those of you who are warm.......BBL

Chriss I had problems all day yesterday..but it finally worked. DH said it may not have been mine at all...but work being done at QIAD

Marilyn - where is the show in Modesto? Wish I could go but got scout stuff Sat and a quilt class Sunday. Also, which LQS do you go to? I haven't been to any that far south yet.

Gotta work today and then I have scout's tonight so likely no sewing for me today.

Chriss,

How do you download the El's barn BOM video? I am not a computer guru. We don't have the fastest internet and when I tried to watch it it turned into a test of patience. It would download a bit then I could watch about 45 seconds then it would download, then another 45 seconds of watching...anyway if I could download it then watch it I would be a happy quilter wannabe.

My day will include housecleaning so I can stitch tomorrow.

Thanks,
Jo Ann

TooMuchFabric that is the way all large video clips are on dial up. You will need to start it and walk away, maybe for a half a day to get it to load. I watched it last night, I can't wait to get my gable end barn made.

Hope all of you have a great day.

CaroleJ - that's great news about your slab being poured today. That's probably why you woke up so early - excitement!

Ho-hum...I'm at work today, as usual. The good news is that our choir rehearsal tonight was cancelled so I can work on the laundry and get in my sewing studio and work on my Pink Lemonade quilt. I finished my sister's tote last night - YEE HAW!

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning All

Actually got to sleep in a little this morning! Don't have to be to work until 11 today, so I'm just going to putts around the house a little before I have to jump in the shower. Not really enough time to accomplish any thing major but maybe I can clean the top of my dining room table so I can at least SEE it!! Man stuff accumulates on there!

It's only 10 above here this morning and supposed to hit 30 today or tomorrow, but for the weekend, they are predicting below 0 temps again! PERFECT to stay in a sew! Very sick of cold temps myself and am anxious to be outside in the yard again. I have a huge yard and tho I am not a gardener I enjoy mowing my lawn! Last summer I tried to mow it in a quilt pattern!

Hope y'all have a great day!

Carole, I know how exciting it can be to have the foundation poured for your home! I remember waking to see 18 cement trucks lined up down our driveway and road!!!! :o) What a sight!!!! Your journey is just beginning....... have fun!
