Ohhhhhhhh Littlebit, I'm jealous. At the quilt show I used the micro handles and tried McTavishing. I did a lot better with them than not.

Hi all - Thought I would also share this info with you I ordered this DVD for beginner machine quilting with a mid/longarm machine - she gives excellent instructions and teaches at all the long arm shows. Excellent buy for $30 bucks - I think it is about 2 hours of instructions and techniques - hope this helps :o)

Wow!! I have had so much fun!! It was so scary the first time I turned on the HQ but after finishing my first lap quilt I just wanted to do another and another and another. LOL I can understand why I have been told that using this machine will become addicting! I am going to keep that first lap quilt, may take it to work to have at my desk or put it over the back of my chair in my sewing room. I really wouldn't want to give it to anyone, it doesn't have any theme to the stitching. I just tryed anything I thought of, swirls, circles echo stitches, loops, some very funny looking hearts and a few stars that no one will know are supposed to be stars but me. You were all right, I love it already!!!! I really want to load another lap quilt to practise on tonight but am way too tired so first thing in the morning I am going to load one and if there is time before I have to leave for a meeting at noon you know exactly what I will be doing. Chat more tomorrow after the next one is done.

Okay, so now that I have completely fallen for my new toy, I need a name for her. Any suggestions???? I would love to hear if any of you have named yours and how you picked the name. DH just laughed when I told him I was going to name it but.........sounds like a great idea to me!! :-) Happy stitching!! Debi

Just put binding on the lap quilt and have cut backing and batting for six more charity lap quilts. I hope to have time tonight to load one up so I can quilt it tomorrow night and maybe do a second if there is time. We shall see...........will be fun trying. Debi

I had another lesson at the LQS and I am so jazzed!! I wish I could take all next week off and just play. I really don't have enough tops done to be able to do that but it sure would be fun. I will be gone most of tomorrow afternoon but am going to try to do another donation lap quilt in the morning before I go. I really had fun today, the time just flew by and I could have continued all day!! Debi

For those of you who have been around for a few years, hope you remember me... The past few years have been filled with family loss, heartache and being so sick I wasnt able to quilt. The saddness is bearable at last but health issues are chronic per the doctors. So I'm back, I'll be taking it very slowly but it's time to dust off my HQ16 and bring my happiness back... Hope to hear from some of my old friend and make some new ones.

Debi - I do remember you. Sorry you haven't been up to quilting and I hope getting back into it will brighten your days. I wish I had more time to get on my HQ-16.

Not going to be able to do anything with my HQ16 for a while either. I have several tops to do, all are extras that don't have a home yet so no hurry. Happy to be back and look forward to chatting with you about stuff as we both have a bit of time to play with our LAs. Happy stitching my friend!! Debi
