Wedding gifts

Post by MADLlama » Wed Jan 07, 2009 12:14 pm

Help! I just found out that not only is my niece getting married at the end of July, but her brother is getting married at the end of June. I want to make a quilt for each of them, but don't know I can get them done in time. Any suggestions for an easy pattern (I am still somewhat of a beginner) that won't take too much time. Oh yea, I work full time, usually 9 or 10 hours a day (I get up between 3:30 and 4:30 a.m.!) so I don't have a lot of free time.

thanks

Have you checked out any of EL's patterns on the free site here. Many of them are very simple to do. I have a quilting book that I call "My Quilting Bible" which is called "400 Quilt Blocks" by Linda Causee. It is available through American School of Needlework. I use this book most often. It gives directions and pictures for 3 different sizes of quilt blocks. The ones that are in the back are the quickest.

Hello MADLlama!

I would suggest the "Tossed 9-patch" or also called "Dissapearing 9-patch". It's fast and fun to do! Here's a link for a pattern.

Have fun!

I have made a few Yellow Brick Road quilts. They are so easy and go together quickly. Laura

That's quite a task you have. Go to quilters cache and the patterns with 1 dot are the easiest. You might find something there.

I don't think I've seen any post from you before so WELCOME to the group.

It is a pretty big task.....are you sure you wouldn't want to make a quilted table cloth or some centerpieces with placemats instead??? Wow...that could burn you out in one summer! Pick an easy nine patch with some pretty colors...that is my suggestion.
