I'd like to keep a list of finishes this year. I didn't keep track of my projects last year; I know I made quite a few, but don't have full recall of what they were, nor whom they went to :-(

1 - Learn to say no. I don't have to make a quilt for every occassion (it gets started, but seldom finished). this should cut down on my UFOs.

2 - If I start something new -- finish it -- before moving on.

3 - Focus on my UFOs. I've got them in various stages, so there should be no need to start something new to get a piecing fix in, or cut into new fabric (I've got redwork snowmen which I've not started the pieced blocks on).

4 - If I absolutely need to work with new fabric, I have a stash of PIGS, include one or two which need a couple of FQs to complete.

Just thought of the biggest one of all. Whatever I'm working on will take longer than I thought so allow for the additional time. In my case it's not always that I plan on 3 hour and it takes 6, but rather it takes longer to get to those 3 hours.

NO resolutions for me -- that way I don't have to break them..

Stashbusters?? Not for me, I love my cotton and wanna keep it long as I can... LOL

I just do what I want when I want... I learned the word NO a long time ago, and now just go with the flow....have fun.. that is what this hobby is all about for me.

If I have a UFO and don't finish it right away... I think, oh boy I still got that cotton..it will get finished when it needs to be..

To have fun w/ my quilting and not to panic when things aren't "perfect".

I have a word for the year, "spontaneous" because I take too much time making design decisions.

Ladyrags
I think your 3 are exactly what I had in mind.
I've already broke #1 and 2. I'm starting in February.

Hmmm, been reading all your posts & thinking. Like some of you, no real resolutions for me, I just want to quilt more & see what I accomplish this year. Got smart & started a 2009 album in my webshots album, for my quilting, mostly. Then I figure, each new year, I will start a new one for that year. I am working on the idea of finishing at least one quilt a month, if not more. Doing good so far! I finished one in Dec., for a retirement gift & right now, am working on finishing one for a friend who is going to have chemo treatments. I also finished the top for that Flying Geese Mystery quilt some of us did here, & I am planning on quilting it & finishing it too. So, I think I am off to a good start. I quilt for myself & my sanity & I don't want deadlines, or for it to become like work, or it will no longer be fun for me. This is my oulet & also, my company, as I spend alot of time alone here, out in the woods, when DH is working. I do have some UFOs, in various stages, but I prefer to think of them as WIPS, or works in progress, as I plan to eventually finish them all, as I get to them. But I love fabric, & continue to add to my stash & I refuse to give it all up, I am just more careful about what I buy now & what I spend...

I have enjoyed taking a picture of the finished project with putting this in my quilt journal. No big time frame, have fun, continue learning, and most of all keep everything in perspective of DH, family, outside activities, and health.

I am going to try to not buy so much fabric and use up what I have at home. I am also going to start a journal. I just bought one made by thimbleberries from QIAD. I love it!
