Marcia,
Despite my pain medicine haze, I have managed to finish 10 pillowcases and will mail them to you tomorrow. Sewing in the middle of the night is a welcome distraction to this mind numbing pain. I do think that I am a little better as I am sleeping for about 4 hour stretches and I go for MRI and to neurosurgeon again on Thursday. I was happy to be able to do something constructive with my "down time".
Please PM your address to me.

Twelve more pillowcases from Oasis (Linda)! The fabrics you had selected are wonderful! Your flannel pillowcases are the first flannel pillowcases I have received so far. And I have to tell you, they are sooooooo soft. It will be a treat for a recovering soldier to rest his/her head on these fuzzy, comforting pillowcases. The wolf fabric was was mesmerizing and very masculine! The jungle fabric was a fun print- esp. with the paint spattered fabric print for the cuff!. The pastel heart print reminded me those candy hearts with the little sayings on them! Some of your fabrics looked like paint brush strokes- which is a great "uni-sex" print! ;-) But the yellow pillowcase with the purple and yellow floral cuff was my FAVORITE one ! (I LOVED the floral print you had used for the cuff and the purple accent strip!) All in all- your twelve pillowcases were absolutely perfect! Thank you so much for pitching in and helping out with this project, Oasis! A big hug to you~Marcia

Marcia, what a wonderfull thing you are doing for our men and women in the service. I wish I had known about your pillowcase project. I love making pillowcases. Are you going to send more for other occasions? I would love to do some for you. I'm assuming by your comment about Christmas stockings that you do something for Christmas too. I have tons of stash that would be perfect for pillowcases or Stockings. God Bless you for your kind heart.

Anyone who helps out another person is NOT a slacker, Brenda! Whether you sew up 3, 33, or 333 pillowcases...there will be a wounded soldier who will be forever grateful! So- please know that your three pillowcases will be GREATLY received! :-)
The fact that you did contribute pillowcases to this cause already tells me you have a kind and giving heart, Brenda! :-)

12 pillowcases on their way to Iowa, left PA yesterday (Tuesday), hopefully to arrive by Friday.

and Brenda, nothing we do for others goes unrewarded in some way. Know that you have brought joy to people who otherwise would not have had that experience.

Marcia, first let me say that I really, really intended to put together some pillow cases and send them off to you. Time just got away from me and with the below zero temperatures we have been having lately, I just didn't want to venture into my sewing room. My sewing room is in the "basement" (it is a walk out basement, so I have lots of windows and a wonderful view) but the temperature was about 43 degrees in my sewing room. Yes, I do have a heater that runs all the time, set to 55 degrees and placed close to my sewing table to keep my machines warm and I do cover them up when I am not using them to keep them kinda warm, but it was just too darn cold to try and attempt anything. Then, I received your letter in the mail yesterday from the stockings and realized that I was just too late. If you are planning on doing this next year, I have a big note on my bulliten board to start working on pillowcases as soon as it warms up. I can just put them in a big tub and when you are ready, ship them off to you. Again, I apologize that I wasn't able to contribute, but BIG KUDOS to everyone who contributed!!! I just don't know how you all do it. I work full-time, and I know a bunch of you do, also, but I just can't seem to find the time. Most nights when I get home from work I am just too tired, or too stressed, to sew and I know if I try, I will totally screw it up so I don't bother. I do try to sew at least one day out of the weekend, but of course there are always those other mundane tasks like cleaning the house, laundry, grocery shopping, etc. etc.

well, sorry for rambling on. I guess I was just feeling a little depressed today, but I always come here, see everyone's wonderful work and feel a little better.

Thanks for letting me rant.
