Farmlady your quilts for your grandchildren are all beautiful! Isn''''t it amazing how one pattern can look so different with the different color/fabric choices??!!! You have a real "eye" for color placement! Thank you for sharing!

Re: Granddaughters' Quilts - Christmas 2008
THANKS FOR ALL THE WONDERFUL COMENTS!
kadi,
The pattern my daughter and I just made up, we do that a lot. We just used the log cabin pattern and a solid square of two different fabrics that matched with the log cabin colors. Then we just layed it out before sewing it together to get the look we wanted. Both of the Quilts are the exact same pattern, we just turned the log cabin a different way for each quilt. The strips for the log cabin were cut 2" and the solid squares were cut 11". I always make a paste-up sheet before I start that way I can go back and make the same quilt if I choose. I make a lot of quilt tops for new babies and senior citizens in my church, and I use the log cabin, solid squares, and large panels a lot. I just change the layout. We have a Quilting Ministry in our Church where a lot of ladies get together and Hand Quilt the tops I make to give to New Babies and Senior Citizens in our Church. Maybe I can post some of the pictures for them later.
Thanks and God Bless,
farmlady

Those are just gorgeous. You are so smart. I can see this pattern done in Easter, fall colors, or Christmas.

Two very beautiful quilts. My favorite is the pink and blue one. I love your color choices. I'm sure they will be treasured. Laura
