Hi all - My youngest son Skyler requested an OU quilt (Oklahoma Sooners) almost 2 years ago, so I said no problem I can make you one. Now I was very new to quilting only having made log cabins quilts in the past, so I took out graph paper and started to draw out his quilt. All the squares are 3 inches finished size with a few half square triangles thrown in. Didn't take a real long time to piece the inner part, but then I got involved with this forum (yes I am blaming you all

)!! and put it aside to participate in swaps and then every pattern that was shown I wanted to make. Then the little thing of El wanting to publish a pattern that I came up with a new technique on how to do it

) So anyway I took it out a couple of weeks ago and finally made myself put the darn borders on it, then I had the hair brain idea to use minkee on the back so I procrastinated even longer...... finally got it loaded on the frame and quilted it on Thursday and sewed the binding on yesterday. It is finally finished, nothing spectacular, but he will be thrilled come Christmas morning - It is a queen size and I just did a large meander all over. Sorry for the long story

)
He was thrilled - and told me today how comfy and warm his quilt is - makes it worth it

)
Told him to look a little excited - lol, so of course he had to over do it
