So I took a huge nap, just after I posted my mom called my grandmother can't swallow it takes her 3 hours to drink an ensure so they want to put a feeding tube to help her because she is so week she can't get out of bed without help. She(my grandma)
had agreed to the feeding tube when I was down last night when they came to put it in she refused. The dr is just sending her home. He said if she wont let them do anything to help her then she can go home until the test results come back.

UGGG!! I am pulling my hair out. I am the only one that she listens to not my mom and especially not my uncle. I can't stay there 24-7 I feel like she is just going to let herself starve.

Carin - I am sooooo sorry your Grandmother is refusing to listen to the Doctors. I know all too well how frustrating it can be. Prayers are with you at this time.

Well, I just got the house righted around after our grandson's first birthday party. Our daughter did most of the work of getting the food ready. I ended up with much of the cleaning.

I ate too much, especially considering we came home after the holiday dinner at our church to have the party. 2:00PM was when our son-in-law's family wanted to come.

Our weather was good, but they hit whiteout conditions on the way home (1 hour 15 min. south of here).

I received a great call this evening. when the phone rang I thought it was possibly a friend or family member calling to wish us a happy anniversary but instead it was a call from the widow of one of my former patients. Her husband passed away in 2003 and I actually had worked with him in about 1991-1992. She was going through an old address book and found my address/phone number and wanted to call and thank me for all of the work I had done with her husband after his stroke. He was a brilliant man who had a stroke that impacted his reasoning skills. We worked so hard together and she wanted to say that she felt blessed that I had been his therapist and helped him to regain so much of his reasoning skills. This man was a patent atty. and we can all thank him for being allowed to record TV shows and movies at home. He was the atty for Sony and argued the case before the US Supreme Court. He joked with me saying he earned the millionS he was paid.
How nice for her to take the time to call me and let me know that I made a difference in their lives. We rarely hear the thanks and never the long term effect we have on people.

so tell someone they have made a difference in your life..it really means a great deal..

I think I will post this in chit-chat too

Carolyn - How nice she called on your anniversary! Those kind of thanks are very rare. Thank you for sharing the story!
