hand quilting
Hi-I'm to the borders of a quilt that is half appliqued blocks & half pieced.Blocks are all quilted.Thinking of just a cross hatch for the borders, but can't decide if it should be squared with the top & sides of the quilt or at a 45'.Can anyone offer advise?

Re: hand quilting
Hi Dana, I don't handquilt but I do crosshatch on my machine. I use the seam between the border and the top as a reference. I use the soap markers to mark a few lines at a time. I quilt on those lines and mark and few more and so on. I admire you for knowing how and finding time to handquilt, it's an artform. Amie

Think about how the blocks quilted. If the blocks are at a 45 I would do the border at a 45.
I use painters tape to mark my quilts. It stays put and comes off easy when I'm ready to remove it.
