I just might have to try the crayon holder for my grandkids. Thanks for sharing a great idea. And the vest is pretty, too.

Redsaltbox,

Back to the crayon holders - -
I would like to make 2 of these tomorrow. How long did it take you to make 2 of them?

Also, I don't know about using a walking foot, believe it or not!!
Can I just sew with regular foot or will it get messed up between the layers?

I just love these and want to make some for my great nieces.

Thanks
Debbie

Debbie, they don't take long at all. I think it took me couple of hours to make all 3. I think it would be fine to use a regular foot because they are fairly small, just pin the layers together good. Have fun,
Lisa

These are really very nice. I don't have any grands but would be nice made up for a pediatric ward auxillary project. Actually they could be made a little taller and used for colored pencils for older children or people that draw a lot.

Thanks so much for sharing!
Have Fun,

The vest is very pretty and I love the crayon holders. They both would make perfect gifts.

I started working on one of the crayon holders today and so far it is really easy.
My DH saw what I was doing and thought it was a great idea. He asked me if I could make a bigger one for some of his smaller tools to carry in the car with him. I think I would have to use a heavier material though. I guess you could adjust the size and use it for just about anything. Thanks for the idea.

Debbie510, I used a handtowel and did a similar thing for a tool holder as a wedding gift for the groom a couple of years ago. I embroidered some tools on the end and personalized it with the young man's name, then I put a selection of screwdrivers, pliers, etc., sewed a heavy grosgrain ribbon to it so he could roll it and tie it up. It worked well.
