Re: Tuesday November25
Good late Afternoon, everyone.....It's a dreary, rainy/snowy day here in SW. Pa, temps only in the 30s and dropping....I got nothing accomplished today except picking up last minute stuff from Aldi's...Of course, bread for the stuffing was 1st on the list and would you believe, no bread at Aldi's...DH and I laughed so hard, 1 lady was in shock and kept repeating, They have no Bread!I certainly hopes she gets released from the home before Thursday....
Waiting for 2 grand daughters to make it home from college and worried about the roads...I can't afford any more grey hair!
Not sure how many will be here for dinner on Thursday, but the turkey and all the fixings will be ready, complete with stuffing made from the elusive bread...
Not too much sewing/quilting today...I've been trying to use up all the left over Christmas fabric by making hot pads and pot holders for our Meals on Wheels people..Hopefully I'll put a dent in the stash....
Enjoy the rest of the day, everyone

Well, I have all but one short edge stitched on to the Dessert Time quilt. It would have been faster had I not chosen to use scraps for the piano key border----bleah! Feels like I spent days cutting out those little pieces...! It was worth it, though, it looks really nice! This one will go to our neighbor-to-be, who is a really sweet guy and has been very helpful to us.
Did all the marketing for the Thanksgiving meal yesterday. Modest-sized turkey in the refrigerator. Splurged on those tiny Dutch gold potatoes; oh my gosh, they are SO tasty! I like lots of colorful vegetables with the meal so we'll also have creamed corn, sweet potato and apple casserole, green beans, and glazed carrots. MMMMMMM! Everything swimming in butter and garlic....

Hi! School is out for 5 days! Wuhoo!
I have to run to get Tday stuff...I've been too busy! I have 25 people coming over, and haven't gotten anything yet. My MIL is bringing the turkey, DH's neice is bringing the ham. I have desserts and sides, that shouldn't be too bad....lol!
wish me luck at the store!

Re: Tuesday November25
Well I figured out why I was having the headeaches.
My sister and I went to do our grocery shopping today. After we checked out she wanted to use the bathroom. It is right by the pharmacy so I decided to check my blood pressure...175/107 Not good. not good at all. I checked again and it was 178/112. My sister checked hers and it was normal, so I am assuming the machine works fine. I take meds for high blood pressure so it shouldn't be that high. Explains other things I have been feeling, short of breath, heart pounding, etc. Guess I better call and make an appointment
Amazes me how much food it takes to make this huge dinner, at least there will be plenty of left overs.
Think I will go rest for awhile

oh grammie, I sure hope everyone feels better soon....
Me, hope that proceedure went well
JoAnn, I already have the crock pot out so that I can remember to use it for the potatoes... you are too brilliant.... I have to make the stuffing in the roaster so my son has barely enough... he loves it.
You are all so busy, hope it all gets done so you can relax and have a wonderful meal on turkey day.

Oh, yeah, it was the last day before a holiday. The kids were wired. The fact that we had a fire drill before 9 didn't help any.
Caren, I gather you make white bread stuffing. My sister lives in Southern KY near the TN. border and all she ever gets from others is corn bread stuffing. Not our favorite.
Tomorrow will make scalloped corn and 2 chocolate pies for Thurs. Will also make walnut bread for us. It is a tradition to have that for breakfast while we watch the parade.
Well, now the dogs want back in. Joy.
Talk later.
