I used it on my grandsons fish quilt. I used both the spray and pins. The spray worked MUCH better. I did not use any batting or flannel. Just follow the directions for whatever spray you are using & you should be fine. Also, watch the stretch on the Minkee. One way stretches and the other doesn't.

Spray basting Minkee?

Re: Spray basting Minkee?
I am using minkee for the backing on quilts for my granddaughters, 2 and 3 year olds. On the one for the 3 year old, I used an ABC/123 panel and some borders for the top, used warm and natural as the batting and minkee as the backing. I machine quilted with a grid and was afraid the minkee was going to stretch and I would have puckers but it didn't. I did use 505 on the minkee and put the batting on it and then pin basted them all together before quilting it. One mistake that I made was trying to use the minkee as a facing instead of doing a binding....not a good idea as it was very hard to control so I unsewed and am doing a traditional binding with cotton fabric. I will say that it is a very heavy quilt but this granddaughter lives in the mountains and a heavy blankee is good for her. She and her 5 year old brother talked about liking this blankee because it has "hair" (Minkee) on it. LOL I probably will use flannel as batting with the minkee backing for the other DGD's quilt. I was dreading doing the quilting on it but was amazed that I didn't have to repair a single pucker on it.
Hope this helps.
