I'm baaaack....
Well going to a shop hop alone isn't as much fun as going with a forum sister:( Mequilter is working this morning, and then going to visit her son. I got a few good deals... wanted wide backing fabric, but they had ugly colors, so I ended up with 6 yds of fabric - only cost me 27.00 -- yeah (but will add on a couple hours to the project). Also bought a panel for the lobby at work for xmas -- the patients seem to enjoy my wallhangings so far.

Debi-- am envious of your new toy! Enjoy:)

CaroleJ wish I could send humidity your way-- I'm the opposite-I need drier weather -- this damp stuff bothers me. Just hop a plane and come over:)

Off to work on DS quilt for a while

Well since it's my birthday, I'm going to do whatever I want. Just got back from a late breakfast and a walk around the farmers market. I think I'll head to the sewing room now.

Good morning all,

I want to wish ZFATCAT a very Happy Birthday. I'm glad you are doing exactly what you want. Sounds like with breakfast and the farmer's market, you have had a nice start to the day.

astitchintime......Congrats on your new "BABY"!!!! Wow those HQ16s must be priced good right now. SewSew gets her new HQ16 in two weeks also. You two might be able to help each other learn some of the wonderful quilting techniques you can do on those machines.

Carolj........hope you feel better as the day progresses. With no kids around, at least you can take a nap, or just vegg and watch a QIAD DVD.

Sandy......I've not heard anyone else using the word "Beautious" before. I use it all the time and my friends just laugh. I should look it up and see if it really is a word. LOL

Sounds like everyone is getting a lot of sewing done for the holidays. Can't believe it is only 2 months away. Which means Thanksgiving is just 4 wweks away.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Have Fun,
Linda S / OASIS

Hi again DH went out to his shop so I'm popping in before the hockey game.....Hope everyone had a delightful day...DH and I went out spent sometime doing errands and stopped over to my sis house....and Lizzie was in the mood to play so I got some LA practice in . Sis is remodeling and the sewing room is catching a lot of the overflow... but she set up the Tin Lizzie 18 so I could practice and it was great...I'm gonna put a real quilt on her soon. I'm feeling confident that I can quilt a small quilt....Lap or crib....ok see ya all laterXXXOOO

Hi Everyone!!
The weather is so nice here! It is 73 degrees and the humidity is now 56%. It is such a big improvement. The other day the temperature was 90 with less than 20% humidity. You could just feel your skin giving up moisture!! (Very prickly feeling. Many people have rashes from the dryness, including me.)

I have been working on the first blocks for my nephew's quilt. I am making a Birds in the Air quilt for his HS graduation next June. It will be red, white and black. The red nests and birds with the white background are so very pretty! I am really enjoying seeing the blocks come together!

Well back to sewing!
Carol

Hello everyone.

I just got back from my craft sale. All I can say is that the economy is really bad and it was the pits. I barely made enough to pay for my booth fees and some others around me didn't even break even. All the vendors up and down my aisle were dissappointed with the turnout, there were more viewing than buying. One couple next to me said that they had never seen this show go so badly, they had always done very good business at this show, but not today.

I did come away with 2 custom orders and 2 others that said they would get in touch. One lady from the local guild invited me to their next meeting, she said she was very impressed with my work and she took my business card.:) Two ladies asked about quilting their tops and took my business card to share with their group of quilters, one lady said she would give me call this next week to discuss quilting her top. She was so sweet, she said she had pieced her first top and even though it was not the best she wanted to get it quilted to use. "I want it with all my little mistakes because it was the first one I made", I remember what it is like to be in that position. Three ladies asked if I would give lessons, she had started quilting recently but felt she wanted someone to give her some lessons.

I had lots of people pick up my business card so hopefully that will turn into some more sales.

Astitchintime - YOU TOO??????? Dang it - I wish the mid-arm fairy would visit my house!!! I'm so jealous but I do wish you many fun hours on your new toy.

CaroleJ - dryness bothers my nose, too. Try using a saline nasal spray (OTC).

DewDew - I'm sorry your craft fair didn't go well. The good news is that you seemed to give out lots of bus. cards so your business may be looking up soon.

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZFATCAT!!!

Everyone is busy today. Me, too. I have started straightening up my sewing studio so I'm going back in there to do more. Y'all have great evening. BBL

Good evening to all!! If the mid-arm fairy stops anywhere else, please give her directions to my house!! That would definitely be the answer to my prayers! Just got home a little while ago, worked this morning & then went to visit DS & his fiance' then stopped in to surprise DD at work. We got there & she had already finished her shift. Thank goodness she was catching up with a co-worker, so we were able to surprise her. We had a wonderful visit with both of the kids but the time went way too fast. I don't care for driving in the dark, so we headed for home while it was still light out. Got everything for chili in the crockpot tomorrow, so I should be able to get lots of sewing done!! Hope everyone has a good night.
