Well it's just after noon here, & was reading all your posts, so thought I would add to it, as I have no close girlfriends here to chat with, lol. I got my quilt top done yesterday & posted pics in the quilt photos, under lap quilt, if you haven't seen the pics yet. Am really happy with how my design turned out, now, I get to decide, what next! Want to get this sandwiched & start machine quilting it soon, but am waiting for a new quilting book I got on Ebay, one of those follow the line ones. Thought it would be here by now, but still waiting, so will waiting on this quilting project a bit longer. We just went out & switched the tanks for propane for our gas log, so now we can enjoy our fireplace once again. Cold here today, but not back, low 60's, but windy too, so feels colder. Nice to be enjoying the change of the seasons though, sure was ready for it! I have so many quilt ideas in my mind, guess I just need to get busy & tackle another one, lol. I could live in my studio most days, even though it's not very big, it has become my favorite room, so am trying to spend more time in there, & keep the creative juices flowing. Does everyone else feel that way about their sewing spaces too? I know I always have, no matter it was or the size even......must be in my blood or something, lol!

Enjoy this day, however you spend it!

We did early voting yesterday, short lines, & went fast, am glad we got all done & over with, now, if the ads would just stop too, lol!

Hugs!

Nancy.....

Nancy, I feel exactly the same way you do about my little sewing space. It's my 3rd bedroom so is small, and somewhat crowded, but like most of us, it is mine. And even if I just go in there and look through my books for a new pattern or idea, I always feel more at peace...........until the darn phone rings. LOL
Have Fun,

Oasis & Nancy.........I feel the same way. My work room is in the basement but I love it there. I've got a tv & a stereo to keep me company while I'm down here & my computer is in the next room. It's always fun to look through things & decide what to do for the next project. I'm finally done with the second autograph quilt, so now my time is for my projects!! Need to throw together a lap size flannel quilt for a wedding present. I have a tote with fall color flannel in it, just need to decide on the design. We've got a booyah for a friends bday later on, so I'm working till we leave for it. Made a pan of double chocolate brownie bars cooling in the fridge....gee, I'd hate to forget to bring those with!! lol

well I just finished cutting the backing for the quilt that I posted a photo of my kitty laying on in another thread. It is now pressed and folded for John to take to school on Monday to hand off to a LA quilter who works there as a special education aide. They will make the decision about how to quilt it since it is a Wedding Present for one of the other Special Education teachers at the High School.

but I like the backing fabric which was also the outer border so much that I have to go buy more :), so I am going to grab something to eat (so I won't be wandering around hungry) and make myself go buy fabric.

I seem to be having a lazy day, but need to get moving. My DH is playing golf, figures it will be his last day to do that this year.

I stripped the bed and got the sheets in the washer, and was trying on the new fitted flannel sheet and the elastic in the edge popped so that has to go back to the store. After the search of the century.

It really is a beautiful day so I am going outside to work. Hate pulling up slimy petunias when it gets really cold, and 70 today is just perfect!

Homemade pizza tonite, sounds good to me!

Everyone have a productive day.

Just got back from picking up Vic from her morning job and we had leftover chicken for lunch. I am going to try and get some placemats finished before I have to drive her to her second job later this afternoon.

Birkenstocks for $25 and a craft fair? I wish I could join you on your day Littlebit, I love birkenstocks and mine are about ready to bite the dust.

Hope everyone gets to finish up all they want to get done today.

I am off to do some more sewing.

Ann

Here I am determined to sew and haven't even been able to start yet. Took Max for a walk, made breakfast for Mom, took shower, then cleaned the kitchen, then straighten the house, folded laundry, took out stuff for dinner, ordered meds from Walgreens and all I really want to do IS SEW... Good Grief

However, I had the Sat morning quilt shows on while I was buzzing around and saw a really fun project I have to try ,but not today. LOL
It is for a fabric bowl, looked like it would be fairly simple and very cool. http://usaapp.husqvarnaviking.com/educa ... f/2701.pdf

NOW I AM GOING TO SEW......

Hello everyone:)

It's another beautiful autumn day in Wisc. I'll get too stressed if I mention all the projects I need to work on..... and yesterday I decided I just have to make an autumn wall hanging for the lobby at work, to replace the log cabin one that is there now.

I have never done a panel wall hanging before. It's not very square, so I had to really tug and measure as I was pinning the 3 layers together.

I HAVE A QUESTION: I am thinking of stitching around the squares to stabilize them, and then do the free motion quilting in the middle. Is that a bad idea?

Any input within the next few minutes would be cool, if anyone is on the site now!!

Hello,
I have my DGD today. She took a three hour nap-and I tried to take one. I had one of the worst headaches I have ever had last night and then got very sick. I was upset as I was unable to attend a surprise party for some friends. The rest of the family went-and I had some peace and quiet. My parrot is back in the living room. We have wrapped her cage in cardboard. DGD comes with 10 fingers-I want to keep them that way. So after DGD goes home I am going to vacumn the bird mess out of my sewing room and get on it./ At least that's the plan at the moment. That could all change. Have laundry to do and need to practice my piano lessons. DGD has played more on it this week then I have.LOL
