I got the pattern in a magazine several years ago, and I think I still have it somewhere. The pattern was for a smaller tree but I enlarged the pattern to make a bigger wall hanging. The whole wall hanging measures 21 by 24 inches. Each section of "branches is made separately in a paper pieced fashion and then sewn together to form the tree. I then added a tree trunk in a wood grain fabric design. I added a piece of batting to make it stand out more and then added the rick rack garland. It is appliqued with a satin stitch to the background fabric and then I added the "tree decoration" before I sandwiched it together to quilt.
