Thanks everyone for your lovely responses.

Caroline, alot of the blocks were hand pieced & appliqued to start with, then I got a 'new to me' sewing machine - Janome 9000 which has a lot of embroidery stitches, so I used different stitches on the applique block (Check them out on the link I posted, there are lots of other pictures here toonow!!) I machine quilted - in the ditch on the sashings, echo, and abit of free motion, not very good but not bad either for a newbie, I practised quite abit on quilt sandwiches to start with. I actually quilted this in two halves as it was too big to handle in the machine,

welcome izy wow you are truly a inspiration to us all did you have a pattern for this lovely quilt are did you just put it together either way its great
