May put sewing on hold for tonight. Managed to spill boiling pasta water on my hands. More left than right. Caught it so it didn't blister, but dang it hurts.
Of course, last time I did the water trick, it burned my boob. Huge blister, lots of wisecracks. Believe me, they don't need to be any bigger.

Hi, ya'll! DH is watching the Alabama/Georgia football game ...oh for shame, Bama is kicking the Ga. Bulldawgs butts something fierce!!!! LOL! I spent the day working in the sewing room trying to get it pulled together. Working on getting my notions put away, the fabric is all on bookcases and the Accucut and dies are set up. I can't wait to start sewing again, I have so many things I want to get started on, and I need to finish up the Double Irish Chain quilt I started for my son right before our move. All I need is to put the border on it and then when he sets up my HQ16 I can get it quilted. In the meantime, I've started a king size QIAD Country Lanes quilt for our bed, using Portabella Market fabrics in red, brown and golds...hope it turns out nice.

Hey there, Sue!! Rosie......ouchie, hope it heals fast for you. I'm cleaning (more like trying to find the top of the table) and then I've got to get a tote finished for my MIL's bday next weekend. DH is having a few of his hunting buddies over for the game tomorrow & I don't know if any of the significant others will be coming or not. I wanted to sew all afternoon, but doesn't look like that'll be done.

Went today to see my great nephew (nanjam62's grandson) play soccer today. He called this morning and told me he was in the Nashville area and told me the time of his game so DH and I are soccer junkies and we went to see him play. He did really well and they won. They have another game in the morning but we aren't sure if we will fight the Titans/Vikings traffic past the stadium to get north of Nashville to see his soccer game. Because of the fuel problems we didn't drive to north Ga to see our grandson play soccer today. He is 4, doesn't have a clue but thinks he is wonderful. I just laugh for an hour when we go to his game.
What did everybody else get into today???

We set out early to drive to Boise to check the house and put out the change of address - only two more days until we sign the sale papers! Decided late today we will go over tomorrow evening after my DH finishes golf and get the rest of the pots out of the yard - no need to leave them, I guess.

After the house we continued on to the meeting place for our Cruiser group, and started on a wonderful cruise! Went up in the mountains, all around, through Idaho City, then Lowman, on to Garden Valley, and arrived in Crouch, and on to the mountain cabin of two delightful people in our group. They had hamburgers, hotdogs or chicken and all the fixings, and the rest of us supplied salads and desserts. Several of us felt we should start with the desserts! Along the way we played a game of poker and lo and behold! I was the winner with 4 jacks, so I have $48 to play with! The weather was just glorious, it was 70 at the cabin, the pines smelled delicious.

I always feel the mountains refresh my soul.

So now my DH is watching the U of I game, they are playing San Diego State, and are being whipped as usual, so you babes in that area don't get too excited over the win!

I am off to start some laundry, no sewing for me. I think I will settle in with a book before bed.

Hey, y'all, just wanted to pop over and say hi before the bedtime rush hits...

Rosie, OUCH for your poor hands! Would an Aveeno oatmeal soak help? The oatmeal is very soothing to traumatized skin. I remember the time I was frying some bacon (in the buff) and it splattered hot grease on my tummy, right above the southernmost hairline...blisters there are just awful! Needless to say, I do not fry bacon in my birthday suit any more. A couple doses of ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) would probably help some, too.

I spent Thursday and Friday out at our property, working in the sun, the wind, the heat, and the grime. Seems like I just climb out of the car and I am dirty...! DH and I got a shed put together that had been giving us fits and got our equipment moved into it (3 generators, cement mixer, piles of wooden stakes, shovels, picks, etc.). The girls went around picking up rusty barbed wire; DH is paying them a bounty for every foot they collect. I filled four BIG bags with trash and debris in between DH's list of "to do's".

So with all the physical labor of those 2 straight days, I went to work today and I am wiped out...! My fanny was really dragging in the afternoon. One more day of work tomorrow and I can spend Monday horizontal on the couch, thank goodness!

GOOOO San Diego State...! Kick some butt!!!
(Sorry, that's my alma mater...)
