Re: Sew-In Friday Sept. 26th
I use the Babylock Espire that I bought at the Paducah Show and had such a hard time with the dealer so I don't have a great feeling about that machine because of that but I am better with it the more I use it. It just reminds me of how poorly I was treated by the dealer when the machine arrived broken. I use it most of the time but have a small brother that I use some and an ole Singer 201 as well as a Singer touch and sew, old one. My sister in law Nanjam is the one that loves the two Pfaff embroidery machines that she has. I think it is a personal thing. After dealing with the Babylock issue, it made me wish that I had bought a Pfaff or Bernina.

I think I will test drive the Pfaff again. The ones that have a great sale on right now are not what i want they were more the basic sewing machine and that isn't what i want, although julia would like it, we live in an area where there are always "show deals" through this dealer 9Pfaff, Babylock and Brother) he has 5 stores in the Southern Cal area and does all the servicing at the one closest to me. i do remember your saga now.
I think I am tempted to get a "class" machine to toe arund and actually buy at the Road to Calif Show in january

If you get a class machine, take it with you. I was told that they were packing mine up so they would ship it first as I was leaving the country....that didn't happen and when it arrived it was missing a stitch button and the dealer wanted to send me a button to fix it myself...there was no way to see what it would attach to and it went down hill from there. If you know the dealer that is providing the machines and he is close enough to use for repairs, classes, etc. you do save a little money but I remember talking to SFO/Michelle on the forum and she had gotten an offer for the espire at a dealer that was very little more than my "broken" machine. Some of the girls on here had no trouble at all with the show machines that they got but it has left me with a bad taste for the machine that I really looked forward to owning. It was eventually made right but this dealer was totally rude to me, would not speak with me, and the replacement machine just showed up on my porch.....with no notice it was being shipped. I could have been away or it could have rained and ruined it....it was just disgusting all around.

oh i certainly would take a machine with me, or arrange to pick it up from the shop since it is only 2 exits down the freeway (translation 10 minutes) It does make a difference to have a dealer you can trust

Have you guys seen sewglad or quiltsbme lately?
I was looking at the birthday list and I noticed how many people I hadn't seen post in quite some time.
Or I could be losing it.

Carolyn...got it.
Which one of the girls wants a machine? Is this for her? or is she getting an old machine of yours?

9P,
I had wondered about them too...they were a hoot in Paducah...but I noticed that they commented on something amusing I think.
