Grandma2Davey I love that stripe!!! What a great idea.
Ruth, I picked the snowman/winter theme cause it'll probably be winter again before I get finished with these quilts (I'm making doubles of each block--one to keep, one to give as a Christmas gift next year).

Well, I guess after this post, I need to go to the dumb as dirt post. I was looking at everyone's blocks and was trying to figure out how I could be behind when I thought I was caught up. Well, I guess I was just too excited about the second applique that I missed the shoofly block. Will definitely try to finish that one tonight. I'm sure I will get to go home early from work because it is still snowing here and you can't see where the parking lot was plowed or the steps shoveled. Yippie!! Extra sewing time.

Can somebody fix the link to Mapleleaf? It isn't working for me and I don't know how to fix it. I did go look at it though. Very nice block.

On my way to the sewing room now.

If you have the book "It's 'El'ememtry the block starts on page 60.

I have made the block, ready for the next one in two weeks.

Hope someone can help me. As I'm reading it on Quilters' Cache, the stem is cut at 1 3/4 inches by 7 inches. That seems awfully wide to me. Am I reading it wrong or is it really that wide? I don't have the "It's 'El'ememtry" book to check El's sizes. Thanks for any help.
