Question again
I know I saw this question before and I didn't need an answer then. Now I can't find the thread.
I am making a fused quilt. I have used Heat and Bond and other fusibles and I am having a gummed up needle problem . What kind of fusible should I buy to avoid this in the future?XXXOOOThanks

Re: Question again
You probably should use a light weight fusible. The heavy bond does gunk up the needle if you sew through it. The light weight is designed to sew over. Lori

Re: Question again
I use Heat-N-Bond Lite and haven't had this problem. Is your fusible relatively fresh? Sometimes the adhesives do weird things when the product gets old. Also make sure your fused pieces are completely cooled before sewing; the cooling strengthens the bond.

Re: Question again
You have to use the lite. The regular Heat n Bond is for things that will not be sewn down.

Re: Question again
For the needle cleaning have a cotton ball & bottle of alcohol handy. That works for me most of the time. If not I use WD 40, but you can't clean the needle & then just stitch as this is oil and will stain your fabric.... Ask me how I know?????
