Fabric everywhere....
Well I decided I needed to organize my stash. I have fabric everywhere. I think I need to stop buying fabric and start quilting more. Something just comes over me and I head out to the LQS and buy more fabric. Not for anything in particular, just to have in case I might need it. UGH! Well I'm going to get organized and sew more. I've already found many fabrics I had forgotten about. Imagine that. Well I'm off to the fabulous room of cotton(which needs to be bigger.) If you don't here from me again it's because I'm burried in the fabric. lol Lori

You definitely have been reading too much this summer! LOL Time to start quilting! Isn't it fun to look at a piece of fabric and try to find just the right pattern for it? Have fun sorting fabric. I bet you will find lots of fabrics that will go together to make a really wonderful quilt.

Re: Fabric everywhere....
Fabric is great!!!! Friday I was at walmart and picked up a quilting magazine. The trip home is 85 miles. I had the magazine read several times by the time I got home. There was a wall hanging in the magazine and as soon as I got the food put up I hit my stash to pick out all of the material I was going to use. By midnight the next day I had the top sewn. Stashes are great. Check out mine on quilting photos under UFO sewing space. Good luck on using up your stash that way you can buy more material. LOL

I joined a group this summer called Stashbusters -- the idea is to work from your stash. I think they 'let' you buy backing, borders and backgrounds. I hope sashing and cornerstones are allowed since I just came home with 17 yards of fabric. I bought enough fabric to finish my twin and baby black & white 4-patch stacked posies quilt tops w/binding (ok, and maybe an extra yard for stash); the borders, binding, cornerstones and sashings for a full size quilt (and maybe 1 1/2 yards for stash) and the backing for a king size quilt - no extra, because if there is extra, I'm going back to get the rest of the bolt to put on the full size quilt.

LOL Lori I know what you mean. LOL We may end up being like GP and having to buy a bigger house if we don't get our stashes controlled.LOL I had a look at mine the other day & said to myself "I have got to get to sewing and stop this buying, just because nonsense." But isn't it fun!!!!!!!! LOL So glad that I am not alone. Hope the Cotton doesn't take you hostage. LOL

Re: Fabric everywhere....
Glad to hear I'm not alone. I got my room cleaned up and my stash organized. WooHoo! Now I have room to quilt again and I can actually see what fabric I have. I had forgotten about all the wonderful fabric I bought over the last few months. I have a few quilts that need to be quilted and then on to something new. Hope everyone has a great day. Lori

Cathy -- Stashbusters is a Yahoo! Group and there is also a web page. http://www.stashbuster.com'>http://www.stashbuster.com
They've got a 'no buy' challenge, as well as a UFO Queen's List. The object is to not become Queen. I'm participating in the UFO challenge and need to finish at least one UFO by the end of the month, or it will 'cost' me a FQ. This shouldn't be a problem, as I've got a quilt which just needs binding.
