my mom taught me some of the little I know and i have filled in more from Eleanor's books, i am fortunate enough to live about 20 minutes from her San Marcos Store and took a class up there, which was a lot of fun.

I started out with lessons and ELS Log Cabin quilt and progressed on to others. Still enjoy taking classes.

I am mostly self taught, as I grew up sewing, soon as I got a chance to use a sewing machine, did stuff by hand before that. Kept getting told, oh, you need someone to show you. Got tired of no one wanting to show me, so, I took the plunge, checked out quilt mags, found something that looked simple enough, made two baby quilts that way, with counted cross stitch center blocks, & I haven't stopped since then. Took a couple of classes, & got(yawn, lol), bored before they were over, so haven't taken anymore since. Not many good ones in this area, I'm afraid, so I buy lots of books, mags, & some patterns, for inspiration, then end up adding my own twist, most of the time. I think I have found what I was truly meant to be doing, now, I just need to spend more time doing it, & use up some of this stash I have bought, so I can keep buying more, lol!
