What to do with YoYos?

Post by DeniAZ » Fri Aug 29, 2008 2:50 pm

I purchased one of the Clover Yoyo makers as I needed to make a few for an applique wallhanging project...

Well, my project is now on the back burner as I am enjoying the process of making yoyos! (Using up my scrap bin) The question is, what can I do with them? Do you have any ideas?

Thank you! Deni

I got addicted to making them when I bought the Clover makers. I have a shoe box full. There are some cute patterns for yo yo clown and elephant. I made a pillow top using some of my different size yo yos.

I have seen some vests made out of YoYo's and they looked very pretty.

Also visit www.hancock.com and find under Free Project Ideas "Diamond Yo-Yo Ornament.

If you type into google, sewing with yo yo's, you will get a number of pages of sites to look at.

Some other ideas: placemats, hair clips, and here's a picture of a spare roll toilet paper holder:

Oops, got the wrong picture. Go down a couple posts and you'll see it.

Wow! What a lot of great ideas! I was stuck thinking pillow, or quilt. I hadn't thought of clowns/elephants, vests, ornaments, toilet roll holders...

It looks like I'll need a lot more yoyos! Maybe I'll get to the bottom of the scrap bin yet! ;) (Some of these projects look really fast once the yoyos are made.)

Thank you for all your help!

I made a lot of ornaments last year for special auctions and sales and give-aways people were having. Great way to spend "tv time" for. Most of what's on tv doesn't take too much concentration, and with the yo yo makers, -- perfect! Not sure if you found one really nice thing was among the lists, just thought of it, it is in El's book, Christmas at Bears Paw. It's a garland, yo yo's stitched together in as long a string as you want. Have fun, my friend, carol/kittyquilt
