our electric was off from 5:30 am until about 4 pm. Tropical depression Ike went through blowing some trees down and leaving quite a bit of rainwater in his wake. Local flooding. DD#1 and DSD are still without power and DSD can't get out due to high water on the creek.
DH, dear nephew and neice and I cut the trees out of our road, DH hooked up the generator so he could keep up with the weather and I holed up in the sewing room.
1 1/2 hrs finished basting rows or #4 delectable mountains by hand
1 1/2 hr on #2, finished cutting all the blocks out
1 hr on #5 sewing on binding
45 min binding #1, then decided I didn't like it so I am going to take it off.

Progress for 9-14-08:

#1: 30 min. more tail feathers cut.
#2: 30 min. all basted and ready to quilt.
#3: 30 min. all basted and ready to quilt.
#4: 30 min. a little quilting done.
#5: 30 min. basted and ready to quilt.

My fingers are sore from pushing all those safety pins through the layers of fabric. But at least that part is done.

Gee Mary, you had quite a time with Ike, didn't you? Hope all the water is draining out so life can get back to normal. Keep us posted.
